Blake Lively’s First Bag Is Named After Her Daughter

When Blake Lively launched her lifestyle website, Preserve.us, back in 2014, we were all thrilled to have the opportunity to borrow a piece of the It girl’s personal style, after all she was to handpick unique handmade items, from home décor accessories to vintage jewelry and clothing pieces, offering only the best to Preserve followers. Around 3 months ago, she ventured into fashion design as well publishing a photo of hers on Instagram wearing a cute below-the-knee vintage dress she had co-designed with Amour Vert exclusively for Preserve. She then, added a printed jumpsuit and a dress to her limited edition collection, pieces that she had created in collaboration with Sam & Lavi. Now, we have the chance to shop Blake Lively’s first-ever handbag that she has designed in partnership with Sandast and named after her cutie 8-month-old daughter, James Reynolds.

Described as “Blake’s custom-made baby bag” on her website, the leather satchel is available in different colors, from rich cognac and blue to the timeless brown shade. It’s a rectangular-shaped roomy satchel-style leather bag with a plaid lining, RiRi zipper that has been imported from Switzerland and a front pocket you can use to carry your mobile phone. The bag has been handcrafted in the USA by Sandast and retails at the price tag of $860 on Blake’s website. While the price may be slightly high for some of you, investing in this piece you can be sure to obtain a timeless and quality item, which also carries a touch of Blake’s personality. She has created a diaper bag that you can easily carry when you’re not a mama as well, which is what Lively herself always wanted to own and decided to make for more stylish mamas. What’s more, the material used and the colors let the arm candy make standout and harmonious looks with practically any outfit.

The choice of the bag’s name isn’t accidental either. We have seen many a famous fashion house name iconic handbags after their muses and famous It girls, including the highly coveted Hermes Birkin bag, the Marc Jacobs Stam bag, the Ferragamo Sofia bag or Mulberry’s Alexa bag. Singer-turned-designer Victoria Beckham has also designed a bag and named after her daughter Harper, and since James Reynolds is the most important little lady in Lively’s life, it’s so natural that she’d give her name to her design creation. This way, she also stays true to the website’s main function of offering stories behind the goods they love “creating a space for people who care about how things are made, and why.”

While we are always eager to see The Age of Adaline star appear in new movies (she’s now filming All I See Is You), we can’t help but wish to see more designs and even entire collections by our favorite style icon, Blake Lively!
