Name three things that come down best in the family? Cuisine, temper, and fashion style… Italian luxury brand Fendi agrees with us; announcing the brand’s new collaboration on capsule watches with the daughter of co-creative director Silvia Venturini Fendi – dazzling jeweler Delfina Delettrez Fendi. Doubling the Fendi impact? The result should be something unique!
Well, the result is actually a haute joaillerie collection named Policromia, which means the art of combining different colors in an artistic way. This already gives us a pretty clear idea what the Delfina Delettrez for Fendi watch collection is all about – colors. But wait, there’s more to the designs than just colors. According to the designer herself, the inspiration for the watches lies in the geometric shapes and the layout of the Palazzo Della Civilità Italiana. For starters, that’s where the Fendi headquarters are located. There you go, a true Fendi collection from the family and the heart of the brand… do you really want to miss out on this?
Silvia went on telling WWD more about her inspiration, “To me, the Fendi palazzo itself is like a huge watch,” said she. “It’s a game of light and shadow and it’s home to incredible marbles.”
The inspiration was translated into the watches perfectly, featuring blocks of colors, shapes, and contrast. It all starts with the white diamonds nestled by the malachite and delicate blue mother-of-pearl. All watches contain an internal Swiss watch mechanism.
How about adding more luxury to the piece, like alligator straps fastened with 18-karat-gold buckles? With this design on your wrist, you should keep your hands to yourself… at all times. The watch is in a round shape and is suited for picky customers that don’t miss a chance to reiterate their love for detail. Get excited, there is a lot of detail on these small creations.
Fendi’s CEO Pietro Beccari decided to add some more hot water on the interested parties that were craving to get their hands on the watches. He stated, “Fendi is quite well-known for offering customers the possibility of really getting wild with the fantasy to build the bag of your dreams, the fur of your dreams, and wanted to offer this also to our watches in order to make them more and more an integral part of our positioning.”
Policromia was unveiled by Silvia Venturini Fendi herself this weekend. The event took place at Baselword and announced the price range for the collection. Are you ready? Take a deep breath and a comfortable seat… the designs will have a retail price starting from €3,000 to €150,000, depending on the extravagance of your taste. Why? Because it’s not only Fendi, it’s double the Fendi.
In fact, this is the first time the jeweler collaborates with this fashion house. Her past experience includes numerous collections that have been presented on the best catwalks, but this collection proves to be amazingly unique and special.
