Hailey Baldwin x Public Desire: The Perfect Shoe Collaboration of the Season

It is one of the latest and most discussed collaborations on Instagram! The Hailey Baldwin x Public Desire shoe capsule collection for fall 2016 is finally here, available for purchase on PublicDesire.com, and it is the perfect footwear collaboration of the season, marking an important goal for both the label and the model.

The Hailey Baldwin x Public Desire footwear line is also pretty affordable, with price tags ranging from $49.99 to $72.99 (meaning that if you are looking for a cool, rather cheap it item to add to your Christmas wish list, you will probably find it in the Hailey Baldwin x Public Desire range of shoes!). All in all, the collection is heavily Nineties-influenced, and combines Public Desire’s already signature chunky styles with Hailey Baldwin’s sensually elegant looks.

“I did know a little bit about the brand before and it happened kind of naturally. They approached my agency about it and we spoke about it for a while,” Baldwin told Elle in a recent interview regarding her debut as a footwear designer.

“It makes a lot of sense because I always say I’ll never collaborate with something that I don’t think I’d wear myself or use myself. So all of the shoes are very much a part of my own personal style. My favourite are the pointy toed little booties, there’s a black pair and a cream crushed velvet pair. And there are ones that are over the knee and peep toe, those are also really cute.”

Trying to translate Baldwin’s personal style into a distinctive shoe collaboration took the British label and the model into a long creative process that in return treated us to a grand total of twenty different pairs of shoes and nine different styles, available in either two or three colors each.

The shoe collection includes everything from sexy party-ready lace-up mesh ankle boots to over-the-knee boots in Bordeaux velvet, from metallic pointy-toe ankle boots to strappy heels. There is even a pair of sub-urban Berlin Platform ankle boots that will throw those who were teenagers during the Nineties into some good old memories.

As for the colors, Baldwin focused on the holiday 2016 season’s hottest trends, namely pink, Bordeaux, metallic silver and gray. The collection’s materials are extremely trendy too, with velvet, perspex and suede being the ultimate protagonists.

As for Hailey Baldwin’s past and future career, we could fairly state that this debut of hers has been particularly intriguing, with awesome campaigns (such as the one with Guess), as well as collaborations (like that with The Daily Edited) being the most acclaimed of the past 12 months. As for the future, she is definitely going to keep on challenging the industry with her designing ideas and signature modeling photoshoots.

“I definitely want to continue modelling. I’m not closing off acting at all. There are a couple of things I feel I could do as I get older. […] I’m very grateful for these years I’m having now though, it’s been so much fun. I’ve got to travel and experience things that, by the time I do settle down, I don’t think I’ll feel I’ve missed out on anything,” she concluded.
