Accessory collections are sometimes overlooked during the Fashion Week, but it is hard to overlook Mansur Gavriel’s spring/summer 2017 accessory line. Forty-six items made up the collection and included both shoes and bags. The bags ranged to include small clutches in different patterns and textures and some with side closures and handbags in an equally numerous quantity of patterns and textures.
There were eight different handbags, each with a cute detail. The sandals and heels are beautiful leather shoes that look amazing as well.
Mansur Gavriel, named after the co-founders Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel, was founded in 2012. As a brand, Mansur Gavriel is well known for creating chic, high quality Italian handbags that are beautifully tailored and eye-catching. Though the leather goods are designed in New York City, they are produced in Italy giving them edgy features of New York and the high quality production background of Italy. Each item shows the features from both well known, major locations in the details inside and outside of each bag, wallet and shoe.
The core of the Mansur Gavriel spring 2017 collection consists of Italian vegetable tanned leather, which is a strong, durable and warm classic leather that ages amazingly and beautifully well giving each item a very long life with proper care. This type of leather does not have a synthetic top finish, meaning that it is naked, natural and will age in a great way that will allow the Mansur Gavriel gold imprint on the front to stand out as the bag ages.
The leather of the sandals will become comfortable as they are worn as well. There are a variety of heels, including several shades of slip-in kitten slides.
One of the most noteworthy pieces of this collection is the red leather and suede handbag with the molded handle. The bag is stunning and different and will be a boon to any wardrobe.
Since women’s clothes are notorious for lacking adequate pockets, a bag is almost an essential. The handbags for Mansur Gavriel’s spring/summer 2017 accessory line include quite a few with a fold over closure. All of the leather bags have the imprinted gold Mansur Gavriel on the front, and beautifully appointed lining in each one. The textured and patterned bags still have additional interesting features like the clasp tops and leather handles.
There are plenty to match every wardrobe, style and personality. The sandals are practical and simplistic. The leather bands are practically and stylishly placed rather than leaning more towards fashion and making them nearly impossible to wear or practical and unattractive.
Thank goodness for Mansur Gavriel’s excellent design skills and commitment to chic practicality. We can’t wait for the collection to his the stores and online at Net-a-Porter, My Theresa, Matches Fashion, Bergdorf Goodman and Barneys to get our hands on our favorite arm candies!
