It’s easy to see why such a highly viewed fashion influencer would want to create a line of any sort. In this case, Rumi Neely has opted to expand on her personal label by launching an Are You Am I fine jewelry collection comprised of one necklace and six different styles of earrings that are all set to be sold exclusively for the blogger’s label at areyouami.com.
Neely is no stranger to the world of cult fashion. She has actually received quite the following among today’s fashion elite, with accessories like her label’s choker (hello ‘90s fashion!) showing up on the necks of celebrities like Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, and many other of our favorite names in current youth fashion.
Now, she is expanding the accessory side of her business by looking to the higher fashion side of things; the seven pieces in the Are You Am I jewelry collection are 14-karat gold, compared to her costume jewelry offerings, which are plated in such.
As a price point, a single golden stud earring is going for $179, while the lovely flower necklace that features diamonds is going for $699, with the other pieces falling in between. This is compared to the price range for her costume pieces, which is $49 to $169.
Essentially, the pricing for this stunning new comparatively-luxury collection begins where her costume jewelry leaves off. But that’s not to say the lower-priced options are worse off; creating them in velvet, leather, and plated gold, there’s a lot of room for her sought after cult style and forward trends.
Her fine jewelry line is set to be manufactured in Los Angeles, where her brand is based. The whole concept of this venture is to create luxury pieces that fit both the elegant sensibilities of her consumers and the fun innovation her brand is known for.
She found a way to merge her personal style with the fine jewelry industry, which is a feat only someone like Neely would be able to execute with such success; thankfully, she didn’t let us down. In an interview with WWD, Neely expressed exactly what she was going for in her line, but even without her words the passion came through in the pieces themselves.
“Jewelry is so intertwined with my personal style that it was a very natural next step to expand to the fine category,” said Neely. “The collection is overall dainty enough to never take off and comfortable for every day, but so beautiful that they make you feel like the best version of yourself.
