Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week spring 2015 is a wrap and we fell head over heel in love day in and day out as the runways were bustling with the latest in creative designs from incredible minds. The gowns took our breaths away, the wedding dresses literally threw us for a loop and the trends that were set on that catwalk will certainly linger in our minds and influence our manner of dressing until the fall/winter couture fashion shows come along to inject us with a second dose of bewildering fashion serum for the year. As spring inches closer every day, we are beginning to have cravings… cravings for new accessories and headpieces that will have us falling in love with ourselves, let alone enchanting the world around us. Of course, none could say no to that bit of fun either. Below, we present some of the coolest spring 2015 couture accessories, shoes and handbags that you might want to invest in!
Since watching Paris Fashion Week haute couture spring and summer 2015 fashion shows, we have come to realize that many of the top fashion houses treated us to incredibly chic headwear, footwear and accessories that will captivate simple with their utterly chic, sophisticated or whimsical looks. As such, it’s clear that while the actually dresses may not be attainable for the average individual, the trends that were set can easily be followed to ensure we look like we are fresh off the runway ourselves.
Christian Dior Couture Spring 2015 Footwear
Some of the most beautiful numbers on the runway were part of the Christian Dior collection, a French fashion house founded back in 1946. Creative Director Raf Simons has astonished us with his choice of footwear, however, though it has also served to please our palate when it comes to haute couture. While some believe that he’s looked backwards on this one, as opposed to creating something more futuristic, we do beg to disagree. After all, those latex boots, either at half or thigh-high length, have often been a common trend among futuristic sci-fi fashions as well. Those bright lacquer pieces are positively striking, and offer stability with their clear colored heels. Instead of being plastic, it’s created by a metal grid. While the shoes may appear to be too much for everyday practice, the fashionista in us cannot wait to at least see some of the It girls and celebrities donning the latex and taking to the streets for some fun times. They are certainly a fashion accessory that Dior’s made us desire with a great passion.
Chanel Couture Spring 2015 Headwear
The Chanel line presented just a few days ago is still fresh in our minds. The audience swooned with the drop-dead gorgeous designs showcased, and totally fell in love with the mesh veils and tulle covered hats. From the straw hats with the black tulle swirling about as if it’s a beekeeping hat, to the knit fitted designs with spatters of floral patterns, the hats of Chanel were such that we cannot help wanting to own at least one or two examples. Most of the models were also adorned with mesh veils covering the eyes and the top of the nose, thus reminding us of the Giambattista Valli looks we so adored. Plus, each knit hat has such different funky designs that we’d have trouble choosing the best fit for us! Chanel always manages to inspire warmth in our hearts for the brand.
Giambattista Valli Couture Spring 2015 Headpieces
The whole Giambattista Valli collection presented during the first days of the Fashion Week in Paris consisted of models wearing polka-dotted veils covering half the face, secured into place with a thick grosgrain ribbon tied over the top, with a very feminine bow on top. While the actual hair was tied low in the back as a ponytail, the creative designer ensured that even that part of the body was dressed in couture. In combination with the dresses worn, the whole look was both dynamic and demure. Black bows and veils have thus become the must-have accessory so dearly craved for a look that’s both sophisticated and adorably chic.
Giorgio Armani Prive Couture Spring 2015 Jewelry
Incredibly talented Italian Giorgio Armani has officially presented a fashion line that leaves us begging for more. The haute couture fashion created by the 80-year-old genius appears more ready-to-wear than haute couture, despite its appearance during this week. Needless to say, we’ve been mesmerized and have not failed to notice that the major trend of this line was in the form of jewelry; to be frank, in the form of massive drop earrings that are mostly circular in shape. Some even appear to be in the form of dreamcatchers, which seems fitting with the overall theme of gentle nature. Not all the models were wearing these items of jewelry, but most certainly followed the trend and will most probably be causing a boom in disk earrings sales.
Viktor & Rolf Couture Spring 2015 Hats
Think country harvest when it comes to the hat trends set by Viktor & Rolf, the Amsterdam based fashion house established in 1993. While the dresses were all about the flowers of the seasons, the straw hats woven in funky designs definitely captured the attention of all those watching the runway. Short straws, long straws, straight to the side or diagonal to the chest, every single model walked out with a straw-woven hat that makes the whole collection absolutely impossible to forget. Who does not want to be shielded from the scorching sun as they toil the earth or simply walk the streets at midday?
Maison Martin Margiela Couture Spring 2015 Collection
While other fashion houses focused on the headwear, we found the shoes to be the biggest trend that we covet from the Maison Martin Margiela couture spring 2015 collection. It was those sumptuous two-face feels that captured our hearts and our imaginations, showing off the naughty and the nice at once. Whether as half boots or laced platform heels, these gorgeous pieces are simply to die for… literally. After all, the theme of the show did seem to center around decay. Quite typical for this label, in any case, but those black and white combinations have stolen our hearts.
