Speckled Eyeliner Tutorial

Ever since the Illamasqua I’mperfection spring 2013 makeup collection got launched, almost every girl got hooked on the amazing speckled effect simple makeup products can create. Speckled eyeliner does look chic and special, and although quite simple techniques are required for achieving the speckled makeup, you can be sure to make gazes freeze with your effortless chic look. Still don’t know how to create a speckled eyeliner look? Follow our easy speckled eyeliner tutorial presented below and create the most smashing eye makeup all on your own!

Although it was Illamasqua, who brought the trend of speckled eyeliner, it’s not obligatory to get their makeup products for achieving this look. A simple black liquid eyeliner, black mascara and a white liquid liner, as well as an ivory matte eyeshadow (or any other color that you like) and makeup application brushes are the required tools for this look. So once you have them all at hand, here we go!

Start your makeup on a clean face. First apply a moisturizer all over your face and then go for the foundation. Once finished, highlight your cheekbones with your preferred blush and now switch to your eyes.

To make your eye makeup last longer, first apply a little foundation on your lids. Once done with the eyelid base coat, apply the matte ivory eyeshadow or the tone you have selected with an eyeshadow application brush. Next, you can apply a shimmering coat of eyeshadow on the inner corners of your eyes and on the moveable part of the eyelid.

Now, it’s time to work with the black liquid liner. While applying the eyeliner, make sure to draw a bit thicker line than you normally do to give room for the speckles. After you have flawlessly applied the eyeliner, take the white liquid liner and start slowly dotting it over the black eyeliner. Finish the look with two coats of black mascara, and if you want your eyes to have a more eye-popping look, opt for false eyelashes. And here you are! Your dotted cat eye makeup is ready to dazzle!
Although the speckled eyeliner looks best with the combo of black and white liners, you can switch on your creativeness and create the same look using other colors both as the base liner and as spots. The same refers to the eyshadows.

Since speckled eyes already are well highlighted, it’s advisable to leave the rest of your makeup neutral. You can apply a transparent lip-gloss on your lips or a light pink color.

As you see creating speckled eyes isn’t a difficult task, as you stick to our Illamasqua inspired speckled eyeliner tutorial. Get your makeup products now and start experimenting with them until you get the desired effect! If you get an interesting result, share your photos with us!
