They help us share our emotions with each other, whether we’re laughing, crying, or projecting love; emojis have become a part of our everyday lives, and so now the next step would logically be to incorporate them into our beauty routines.
Temporary tattoos can be totally fashionable and adorable, and now we’ve been given these new emoji lip tattoos to obsess over. These tiny tattoos can be worn on the face and even directly on your lips, so you can carry your favorite emojis with you all day; it’s the perfect way to merge together two hot trends of today!
Back in 2011, everyone was freaking out over Temporary Eye Tattoos and Violent Lips. Jeff Haddad was the creator behind those beauties, the tattoos for which covered your lips and lids with patterns and glitter, from colorful rainbows and spatters to animal prints, glitter, and fun prints like sweet treats (and so on). In other words, they were just really cool additions to so many fashionistas’ Instagram feeds! Five years have gone by since then, and now Haddad’s two daughters, Isabella and Sophia, have picked up where he left off.
Isabella, 19, and Sophia, 15, have entered the beauty business by creating their press-on temporary tattoos in the form of our favorite emojis. Dubbed Violent Lip Minis, it’s clear they’re working to follow in their father’s footsteps, but the appliqués do differ from the original Violent Lips.
As the “minis” name addition entails, these temporary emoji tattoos are teeny, so they can be worn anywhere you want, without having to make a huge statement as you might have needed to with the past products. And that’s definitely the biggest draw. The discretion relating to the size makes them easy to put just about anywhere, without causing much room for criticism from onlookers.
“The original Violent Lips temporary lip tattoos are applied onto someone’s entire mouth, which is kind of a commitment,” said the sisters in an interview with Cosmopolitan.com. “We created Minis because we wanted to give our customers the option to apply a more subtle product that still possesses a memorable statement. As soon as we came up with the idea to start this new line, we decided to make it a multi-purpose tattoo that can be applied onto the lips, face, nails, and body.”
It’s nice to see that things are staying in the family. Working off of Jeff’s initial idea, his daughters have created a modern twist that will have everyone raving. The emoji stickers, which were inspired by Isabella and Sophia’s classroom doodles, will make a great, yet subtle statement in the fashion world in the near future.
