The 2015 CFDA Awards took place on June 1 at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center in New York City, bringing together A-list supermodels, actresses, fashion designers and musicians to celebrate this year’s nominees and proud winners. It’s one of the most impressive and important events in American fashion organized annually to recognize the great contribution of talented designers to the fashion industry. While the Olsen sisters again won the spotlights both for their prize as womenswear designer of the year and their outstanding looks, Tom Ford took home the prize of the best menswear designer of the year, and then there was also Pharrell Williams, who scored the fashion icon award. And of course, we were all eyes trying to capture every detail of those breathtaking celebrity outfits that made the night much brighter and more memorable. Below, we discuss some of the best moments from yesterday’s 2015 CFDA Awards red carpet fashion, from Kim Kardashian’s see-through dress to blogger Chiara’s intriguing outfit!
1. Gigi Hadid’s Sparkling Jumpsuit
Supermodel Gigi Hadid was the one to make everyone’s heads turn with her gorgeous Michael Kors bell-bottom jumpsuit in a metallic gold color. While providing enough coverage, it still made her look drop dead gorgeous and sexy, emphasizing her flawless body and looking especially spectacular when styled with the golden envelope clutch and platform sandals. Her soft beachy waves and the classic golden eye makeup finished off the look just ideally turning her into the pretty angel fallen from the sky!
2. Diane Kruger’s Strapless Sequined Gown
Wherever she appears, she’s always among the best dressed celebrities and this is true about Diane Kruger’s last night outfit as well. She wore a strapless Prabal Gurung sequined gown in a bright red color combined with hints of black. Diane complemented her elegant look with an Edie Parker clutch and a pair of black strappy heeled sandals that looked so in line with the black detailing of her dress. A sleek half-up half-down updo and a minimal makeup with subtle smokey accents on the eyes did the job beauty wise just perfectly.
3. Coco Rocha’s Romantic Gown
Coco Rocha was the princess of the night hitting the event in a lovely floor-length thick-strapped Banana Republic gown in a light gray coloring. The bow detail up on the front and the pockets added a touch of innocence and cutesy to her overall appearance, while the edgy makeup slightly toned down the too romantic vibe in her look. She paired her deep wine lips with her signature cat-eye flicks and porcelain skin, while the hair was gathered up into a sleek updo with a center parting.
4. Chiara Ferragni’s Fringed Two-Piece Ensemble
Fashion blogger turned shoe designer Chiara Ferragni won’t miss any big red carpet event recently, and, of course, she was present at the 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards as well. She was accompanied by Rebecca Minkoff herself, which meant she was dressed in one of the designer’s coolest numbers, being a fringed two-piece consisting of a long textured skirt with a side slit and a flowing vest topping a simple black crop top. Strappy black heeled sandals and a gilded clutch completed her look, while her hair was left loose in soft waves with a deep center parting. It was one of the most unconventional looks at the event and while some must hate it a lot, we loved it to bits!
5. Amanda Seyfried’s Bejeweled Dress
While most of the attendees opted for either a ground-skimming gown or a modern jumpsuit to win the spotlight at the event, Amanda Seyfried looked stunning in an interesting bejeweled knee-length dress from Rodarte finished off with a pair of Christian Louboutin golden heeled sandals, sleek enter-part loose hair and a classic smokey eye makeup look. The multicolor strips of metallic fabric used on the see-through skirt of the dress looked so harmonious with the heavily bejeweled bodice that added lots of texture and intrigue to the overall look.
6. Kim Kardashian’s See-Through Dress
No wonder, Kim Kardashian West was in the spotlight yesterday, as she had announced about her pregnancy just hours before the event. She decided to show off her curves in a custom-made see-through black dress from Proenza Schouler featuring a side slit, lots of eyelets put in different sizes and some feathery details up on the shoulders. A pair of black heeled sandals with the same eyelet details finished off her look, while beauty wise she stayed true to her signature style wearing a sleek ponytail and her well-known perfectly contoured makeup look.
7. Karlie Kloss’ Polka-Dotted Dress
Karlie Kloss looked both strong and sweet in a floor-length polka-dotted Diane von Furstenberg dress featuring black and red colors. The deep plunging neckline added a dose of sex appeal to her overly feminine and demure look that was skillfully finished off with a pair of metallic pointy-toe shoes, bright red lips and soft wavy hair. She was definitely among the best-dressed celebrities at the 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards.
8. Natasha Poly’s Red Gown With Slits
Natasha Poly was the sexy lady of the event, as she made an appearance in a risqué red gown from Micheal Kors with lots of slits up on the front and a flowing cape like detail. A metallic golden box clutch, a pair of golden strappy sandals and golden jewelry were the right accessorizing details for this monochrome sexy dress, while her beauty choice was a textured classic updo and a smokey eye makeup. Simple breathtaking!
9. Lily Aldridge’s Black Sequined Dress
On the whole, there was lots of sparkle, glam and glitz at the 2015 CFDA Awards and Angel Lily Aldridge was one of the ladies wearing sequins. She donned a Thakoon black dress with a high slit revealing her leggy leg and a deep V-neck. The sequins added texture to her monochrome black number, making it look more interesting and divine. Black pointy-toe shoes, a box clutch, loose center-part naturally wavy hair and minimal makeup complemented her look just ideally!
10. Chrissy Teigen’s Strapless White Dress
Chrissy Teigen’s choice of the outfit for the night was a simple monochrome Solace London strapless dress in a white coloring and with a deep center slit up on the front. It was modern, fresh and chic and definitely one of the best looks spotted on the red carpet. She paired her dress with black strappy heeled sandals and an envelope clutch, while keeping her hair loose in a sleek center-part ‘do and wearing extra-long eyelashes for a higher impact!
