Some models just never seem to get old. Sure, their features mature over time, but they can still pass for a 25-year-old, even when nearing their half-century celebrations. Claudia Schiffer, the 45-year-old German model and creative director of her own clothing label, has come up with a new line of cashmere luxury products, stepping up and modelling each piece herself. The 180 cm tall lady is world renowned and is considered one of the world’s most successful in her field of modeling, having become a household name in the early 1990s and staying top of the game ever since.
While she has had her own brand for a while now, she has launched a new fashion venture, unveiling the Claudia Schiffer brand, Made by TSE, which contains 40 pieces in cashmere and stems from her original collaboration with TSE back in September. Who does not love cashmere anyhow? We have always had a soft spot for the rather soft material and we are looking forward to seeing it at trade shows in Dusseldorf, Germany in February, with it reaching Paris from March 2 to 9. The whole of the Claudia Schiffer collection is expected to become available to the mass public from July onwards, through the TSEcashmere.com portal. The next question in your mind is the pricing of course. Let’s just say that the cashmere does not come cheap, starting from $177 USD.
For the collaboration, Schiffer herself sits as creative director, overseeing the design and artistic direction of the women’s collection. She is a supermodel with super abilities when it comes to putting together beautiful designs, something that TSE has clearly figured out. “My collaboration with TSE was such a positive experience that the obvious next step was to launch my own line, with TSE producing it,” said Schiffer, who called TSE a “great partner who understands my passion for cashmere.”
For the model, the process of combining amazing cashmere yarns with multicolored jacquard detailing was quite delightful, creating a line of causally chic separates for your everyday desires. What inspired her were the colors, scents and textiles from Spain as she travelled about, the palette including a sunset red, burnt orange, and a peaceful sky blue. The stronger shades have also been combined with cream and camel, in reference to the mosaics, heirloom rugs and ancient tiles that can be found in the country.
The pieces are meant to be worn with denim and the latest in accessories, the mood of the whole line being totally unfussy and entirely appealing. We find slouchy sweaters and boyfriend fits, belted dresses and looser pieces. The whole line has a certain romantic bohemian feel to it, making it something we certainly want to invest in.
