We have loved seeing Gigi Hadid branch out from modeling into the world of design, and so we’re, of course, ecstatic to see that she has a new venture in that realm. The model-turned-designer will be creating a boot style named after her, which will become available from Stuart Weitzman. We saw her designing chops when she created her capsule collection – Tommy x Gigi – which went live for Tommy Hilfiger for fall 2016, so we know she can work with clothes; but it’s hard to imagine that she would make a boot design that is anything less than fabulous.
Her past Hilfiger collection was a see-now-buy now model, so we know that she has what it takes to design for what women want right now, in the moment. If her personal style is any indicator to how this boot design will turn out, then we know we’ll have nothing to worry about.
There are so many reasons she has made it so big in the modeling and fashion industry, and it’s not only all about her natural beauty and how well it translates; she has proven her fashion know-how and she keeps us on our toes, waiting for the next new tidbit of her industry excursion to pop up.
For instance, Gigi Hadid’s collaboration design with Stuart Weitzman was announced within a magazine featuring Hadid. The 21-year-old superstar was on the cover of WSJ Magazine, and it was in the accompanying profile that the collaboration was revealed. So we know that the Gigi Boot will be released this fall, and we know it is going to be a great success, but we don’t know any other details about it!
Hadid wears so many different kinds of boots that it’s hard to tell even what occasion she will have chosen to design for. Weitzman must have grown a great deal of trust with the model, since she has been working closely with the brand since about this time last year. Most recently, we saw her in his fall 2016 campaign, wearing some pretty great boots, no less.
Hadid’s fashion ventures have just so happened to coincide with her boyfriend Zayn Malik’s first step into the design world. The One Direction singer has teamed up with Giuseppe Zanotti for a collaboration that is set to be released in the coming year.
We’re trying to not get too far ahead of ourselves with just this boot design yet to be released, but we can’t help but cross our fingers and wonder if we’ll ever see these two hunker down to do a joint venture! Until then, we’ll just wait for the design to come out, since it will potentially be one of the most popular pieces of footwear on the streets this fall!
