Paris Hilton’s sister, Nicki Hilton got married in a majestic Valentino Couture wedding dress! Honestly, we had all but forgotten about the super-rich kids that once were the talk of the town. You can imagine our surprise when we heard the news, having pushed the girls out of our heads for the time being. They were not relevant of late at all it seems, even to amuse us with crazy antics. While our surprise at seeing the heiress married was palpable, the fact that she chose a Valentino couture piece was certainly to be expected. After all, the fashion house is well known for its couture garments, whether as gowns for the red carpet or to wear to a rather expensive wedding. Plus, she all but stated clearly that it would be Valentino she would be wearing when Nicky Hilton, granddaughter to Conrad Hilton – the founder of the Hilton Hotels chain, announced, “Ever since I was a little girl I wanted Valentino to design my wedding dress. Valentino is the definition of timeless elegance; I don’t think there’s another couture house like it.”
This is not Nicki’s first wedding, but we certainly hope it will be her last. Then again, celebrity divorces and marriages give the regular people something to gossip about, entertainment throughout their days that means nothing really but is fodder for conversations on dates and friendly gathering. So, we are very happy to see Nicky Hilton getting married 11 years after her last marriage and divorce.
Fiance James Rothschild must be thrilled, really. But when it comes to a wedding, it is the bride who benefits the most, having spent 6 months with couturiers creating her perfect dress. After going through all their collections from the past 10 years and noting everything she liked, from the high neckline to a certain type of sleeve, it was expected that what she would cascade down the aisle in would be a fantastic piece of marvel, a piece stolen from a dream. At the end of the day, the hotel heiress came through with a guipure lace gown that was thoroughly embellished in crystals, with a balloon skirt that had a 3 meter long train, her Christian Louboutin pumps with Mrs. Rothschild written on the heels.
We have to admit, she does look exceptionally elegant and as conventionally beautiful as you can get, without any aspect to the look that could possibly incite untoward rumours or uncalled for criticism. On the contrary, the guipure and lace concoction will most probably be remade over and over again around the world, presenting the image of a pure, ethereal queen of the angels. At least, that is what we see when we look at the outstanding design to the dress, discounting the fact that Nicky herself is far from the innocent image she showcases for her wedding. Those shoes though, they are so totally her! A fashion designer herself, she knows how to look good for the camera though, and make her big day simply unforgettable.
