Selena Gomez to Design An Exclusive Line for Coach

After unveiling the innovative Coach pre-fall 2017 collection, the brand’s creative director Stuart Vevers decided it was about time for Coach to surprise us with an exclusive fashion line designed by actress and singer Selena Gomez. Selena Gomez has just announced her $10-million-worth deal with Coach, which will let her not only design her own exclusive Coach x Selena Gomez line, but also star in several Coach ad campaigns as the luxury label’s brand ambassador.

Selena Gomez to Design An Exclusive Line for Coach

Many are already comparing this strategy to that of Tommy Hilfiger, who tapped Gigi Hadid as a co-designer and brand ambassador for two times in a row. Given the fact that the first Tommy x Gigi collection received positive feedback, and that the decision of asking her to become the label’s brand ambassador was an overall huge success, we expect the Coach x Selena Gomez deal to follow a similar path.

Like Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez is also not only internationally renowned as a great singer and actress, but can also count on an astounding number of followers on Instagram (she is one of the most followed personalities in the history of Instagram). Although having many followers on Instagram might not seem a great deal for many, many collaborations became actually even more iconic thanks to this powerful social media platform (just think about the aforementioned collaboration with Gigi Hadid, or, for example, the one that saw Hailey Baldwin teaming up with Public Desire a few months ago).

Gomez, who announced she needed to take some time off to focus on her health back in August, made a touching speech at the 2016 American Music Awards about her recovery, letting many hope for a new thrilling beginning for the musician.

The upcoming year will thus actually mark two important new beginnings for both the singer and Coach, whose all-year-round 75th anniversary celebration, along with creative director Stuart Ververs’ winning styling choices, is granting the label astounding increasing sales.

The collaboration between Selena Gomez and Coach already appears to be the ultimate winning choice for Coach, as proven by the fact that, as soon as Selena Gomez was spotted wearing a Coach tee and a handbag a few days ago, everybody quickly began hoping for a possible collaboration between the singer and the label.

It is not going to be the first fashion venture for Gomez, who appeared in several Adidas and Louis Vuitton ad campaigns, and designed a capsule collection for Kmart 2010. We bet her youthful elegance will definitely bring a breath of fresh air to Coach’s legacy!
