November 10, 2015 was a grand day in the fashion world. New York City, more specifically Lexington Armory widely opened its doors to a whole equipage of fashion-related personalities in anticipation to see the Victoria’s Secret 20th Fashion Show to take the world by storm once again. The utterance of the phrase “Victoria’s Secret” is just sufficient to bring into mind provocative eyes, sinister smile, leggy legs, a great amount of flash, super-sultry cleavages and, of course, a lot of angel wings. Once again we saw that creativity actually had no limits: iridescent and ample wings were a case in point. The VS Angels and models had so much coalesced into those wings that we somehow got confused seeing them on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2015 pink carpet without this or that piece attached on their backs.
The after party event was no less impressive and drop-dead gorgeous. The only difference was the pink carpet replacing the catwalk and oh! those heavenly wings that had been left somewhere backstage but still vagabonding in our memories. A range of VS angels, models, their famous friends, as well as bloggers, artists and just the lingerie brand’s truthful friends overwhelmed the pink carpet with the vibes of their own individual style. We have rounded up the best pink carpet looks for you, willy-nilly inviting you to participate in this style decoding process.
Noteworthy and surprising was to see Selena Gomez and Martha Hunt wearing nigh the same Mugler mini dress with diamond-like cutouts, differing from each other only in shade and in some cutout details. Selena opted for ankle strap sandals to match with the mini and Martha was feeling quite comfortable in lace-up ones.
Cutout dresses were definitely predominating on the pink carpet. Gigi Hadid was undeniably on the top with her gorgeous all-black gown with so many asymmetrical cutouts that at times seemed to be more than fabric. The dress was matched with Tamara Mellon ankle strap sandals, while the stunner’s blonde hair was gathered into a soft updo. Yolanda Foster was near her daughter decked into platinum grey mannish suit.
Another crazy cutout gown was showcased by the French model Cindy Bruna. Her all-white gown with a super high center slit and sensual cutouts at the waist looked really show-stopping with a pair of pointed-toe white shoes, while she wore her black waves loose.
Kendall’s custom shimmering bronze Atelier Versace dress was just another example of cutout designs. The side slit was entirely opening her leg while the see-through fabric was exposing the shadow of the second leg. The plunging neckline did not fail in intriguing and the tattered hemlines were giving her whole appearance some sprezzatura. Her waves flowing with a tiny bun on top of the head was just the continuation of that effortless chic style.
Behati Prinsloo could not definitely consign the pixie atmosphere to oblivion and appeared on the pink carpet with a powdery blue Atelier Versace mesh mini dress embellished with botanical motifs. Her fresh and cool attire was intensified by black platform sandals and a necklace-like black ribbon wrapped around the neck. This breezy ensemble could not but require loose wavy hair down on the shoulders.
The veteran VS Angel Adriana Lima donned a golden glowing Alexandre Vauthier super mini dress with asymmetrical hemlines and plunging neckline matching it with center-strap high-heeled black sandals.
Alessandra Ambrosio was also gorgeous differing from others with her hyper-elegant look. She was shining in a long body-hugging black-white dress, which would have been labeled as the most conservative dress on the pink carpet if not that ultra-deep side slit opening one of her legs up to the hip. White pointy-toe shoes were pretty well going with the white inserts at the waist of the dress.
The Fantasy-Bra-wearer Lily Aldridge seemed to be wearing an embellished one-piece swimsuit complemented with a transparent skirt. Wearing a black strapless mini dress matched with over-the-knee black boots, with her blonde hair neatly combed down and lips coated with scarlet red shade, Candice Swanepoel seemed to have escaped from a fairytale where she was definitely the evil hero.
Joan Smalls was also elegant donning a Givenchy maxi dress, the top corset part of which matched with a brownish bottom emblazed with a monument print.
The outfits on the pink carpet at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2015 are definitely not so easy to be copied, screaming to be quite daring perfect for an audacious lady to wear them to a party. What is left to us now is just waiting for the next Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show to discover new wings, newly-minted models and, of course, Kendall’s and Gigi’s further development in this high-profile segment of fashion.
