‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting’ Cast Covers Redbook Mag June 2012

What to expect when the ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting’ stars appear on the cover of Redbook Magazine, June 2012 issue? Certainly a beautiful photoshoot and conversations about… well, of course, motherhood. Before the launch of this heavily promoted movie that will appear on big screens on May 18, the leading female stars cover the Redbook magazine and express their views on parenting. No wonder, the views and perspectives are quite varied and the challenges that come with the new “role” are also different.

Cameron Diaz, who isn’t a mother yet, believes the world is quite biased on the subject. She tells the magazine that: “I’m sure a lot of people would expect that I would have had a child by my age. But it’s not what I’ve wanted out of my life thus far. We still live in a largely chauvinistic world. There’s a box people put themselves in, and when you [live] outside of it, that makes them uncomfortable–they have to look at themselves and question their own choices.”
On the other hand, Jennifer Lopez, who is mother of twins Max and Emme, speaks about how she manages to find time for herself in her hectic life full of responsibilities. “My sanctuary is my bathtub. That’s really the only time I get to myself. It’s usually around 15 or 20 minutes, but for me, those minutes are like heaven on earth. Sometimes I even say a little prayer while I’m in there. I’m like, ‘Lord, help me get through this day!'”, she stated.

Elizabeth Banks is quite optimistic to the subject and she even believes that there’s not a perfect time for becoming a mom. “I definitely don’t think [you have to wait for] a right time. I mean: Why wait? The Chinese believe that if you have a baby, what you want comes together even better. You just do it, and make it work. I think the thing you always hear – but can’t really feel or believe – is how this little baby really does change your life,” she says. “When you have children, it’s the entire focus of your life, but my capacity for joy has been opened up in a way I never thought possible.”
Besides including the views of the other actresses, Brooklyn Decker and Anna Kendrick on the subject, the June issue of the Redbook mag also reveals the stars’ views on parenting.
