3.1 Phillip Lim Pre-Fall 2015 Collection

The upcoming year is going to be huge for fashion designer Phillip Lim, as he’ll be celebrating his brand’s 10-year anniversary in September. This was a great occasion for him to revisit his roots and present the best of his sartorial values in the brand new 3.1 Phillip Lim pre-fall 2015 collection. The result is something extremely bewitching and perhaps the best we have seen from the brand so far: a line filled with functional, elegant and perfectly tailored clothing pieces with great attention to small details.

“It’s a maximal approach to minimalism. The pieces are relatively subdued and clean, but a maximal amount of through goes into their details,” Phillip Lim tried to explain the idea behind the chic 3.1 Phillip Lim pre-fall 2015 collection.

It’s actually “relatively subdued” featuring lots of navy blues, grays, camel tones, blacks and whites with small proportions of orange and prints used to add life to the designs. Bolivia and Peru served as the most ideal sources of inspiration for the designer to come up with a range of simple, modern and utterly versatile looks that center around office-ready pieces, ones ready to revamp a modern business lady’s wardrobe. Flirty details play a no less important role throughout the collection, especially the Bolivian lace, ruffles and striped Peruvian blankets nodding to the sources of inspiration.

Monochrome and minimalistic are the best adjectives to describe the entire 3.1 Phillip Lim pre-fall 2015 collection, which features an array of perfectly tailored and styles separates, including knee-length shorts, blazers, trousers, asymmetric hem skirts, miniskirts, fab tunics, coats and capes with blanket motifs. Elegant stripes and modest florals put in the same shades as the pieces they appear on come to add interest to the overall monochrome theme.

Sporty vibes are also present here put in action through a duo of an elegant checkered varsity jacket with matching pants. Then, we also have a woven-striped trench, flirty monochrome dresses with inserts of ruffled and striped pieces of fabric, fringed designs that bring those subtle ethnic vibes and some really awe-inspiring accessories. To this end masculine shoes, classy ankle booties and Lim’s Soleil bag (a stylish duffel) play an important role in making the looks complete.
