Adidas Originals x Opening Ceremony Collection for 2012 London Olympics

2012 London Olympics is in the air! We all look forward to it and to make the anticipation much more exciting, the New York-based retailer Opening Ceremony has collaborated with Adidas Originals to launch a capsule collection for the fall/winter 2012 season. This will be the first collaboration with Adidas ever, and admit that there couldn’t be more appropriate time for the hipster Manhattan store to do this than the year of Olympics. Filled with vibrant splotched prints, dazzling floral touches and the OC’s signature bandana patterns, the upcoming Adidas Originals x Opening Ceremony collection for 2012 London Olympics brings back the ‘90s aesthetics fused with quite daring sartorial designs.

Staying true to the Olympics spirit, the brands have used mainly neoprene rubber, dry-swim spandex and nylon twills for creating super-flexible and sporty pieces. As the creative director of Opening Ceremony, Carol Lim stated: “The swimming and diving categories are always exciting to watch. So we made sure to honor that by including a fun swimwear component!”
By the 90’s the BMX riding was ramping and Opening Ceremony tried to bring this spirit to the collection by designing some simplistic and sleek bike attires both for men and women. Other than that, the collection features a stylish mini floral poncho, which gives an elegant touch to the entire line. You can also find peplum tops, bodycon dresses and curve-hugging skirts, which try to bring a feminine vibe to the sport-chic outfits.
In addition to the statement-making outfit creations, the Adidas Originals x Opening Ceremony collection for 2012 London Olympics also brings exceptionally voguish footwear. Overall there are twenty cutting-edge pairs of shoes for any sports activity, whether you are getting ready to do some jogging or even trekking. You are sure to love the Samba trainer bobs up, or the Boat Swim Shoe, plastic Oxford shoes and jelly sandals.

The Boat Swim Shoe looks not only ultra-stylish, but also highly comfortable. The upper side of the shoes features mesh and foam textile dotted with paisley-patterned canvas around the ankles and finished with an anti-slip athletic sole. Besides, there are some classic dress shoe styles with PVC material.
All the pieces featured in the Adidas x Opening Ceremony capsule collection are set to become available for purchase starting on the 19th July. You can get your favorite products at Covent Garden, London. In case, you miss out anything you want to get, there is a new Spring/Summer 2013 collection on the go!
