Alexa Chung In AG Jeans Fall 2016 Campaign

Alexa Chung x AG Jeans appears to be a pretty successful duo, so we are not wondering why the label tapped (for the second time in a row) the iconic British model and entrepreneur as its face for the newest AG Jeans fall 2016 ad campaign. She perfectly captures the effortless chic nature of statement AG Jeans staples, which you can also get your hands on at Shopbop.com.

Alexa Chung and AG joined forces for the first time in 2015, when Chung was asked to design a vintage collection inspired by one of her trips across the desert. All of the pieces were so unique and covetable, AG is now replacing model Daria Werbowy as the label’s brand ambassador for the upcoming year.

Werbowy, who reigned over the AG realm for four years now, is leaving a legacy of gender fluidity and unisex vibes that (needless to say) took the label to a brand new level. With Chung AG is likely to complete its transition to one of the most acclaimed ready-to-wear labels in the industry, with vintage and genderless fashion going hand in hand with each other.

“At the risk of sounding cliché, there’s really no one quite like her. There is something about Alexa where women want to be her,” said Johnathan Crocker, AG’s director of global communications. “She walks this line of being very aspirational and very accessible. That is what we gravitate toward.”

As for Chung, she simply stated that “[I’m] thrilled to be asked back to model the AG Fall ’16 campaign. I guess they missed me as much as I missed them.”

Photographed by Theo Wenner in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the 32-year-old model is seen sporting some of the AG Jeans fall 2016 collection’s must-have pieces that you can wear either with a more relaxed, day-to-day outfit or with a sensual combination of pieces and accessories, such as pumps and bodices.

While the laid-back attitude could be seen as Werbowy’s legacy, Chung managed to let the staples reveal their versatility and eclecticism even more with a style that ranges at times from a indie/hipster to a more glam rock and even sensual one.

The collection includes denim dresses, overalls and denim jackets with distinctive Sixties and Seventies vibes that Chung channels by combining suede coats and relaxed silk blouses with trending vertical stripes.

If you are interesting on how the AG Jeans x Chung duo works, then, you can always browse through MyTheresa.com, as the pair convinced It-girl Gia Coppola to be featured in a short film while wearing a mini dress from the AG Jeans fall 2016 collection. It lasts 16 minutes and gives us a glimpse of what is going on in the AG studios now!
