Alexa Chung Collaborates with Marks & Spencer on New Collection

There is something about Alexa Chung that we really find attractive and it has to do with more than just her physical appearance and that gorgeous smile. The English fashion model and television presenter is also best known as the contributing editor to British Vogue, making the lovely 32-year-old darling of the fashion industry all the more to our liking. She has a raw freshness to her that we do not normally find among models, while still staying humble in her field. Even her tweets are sweet and humorous, including the latest where she thanks Marks & Spencer for allowing her to rifle through their archives. It is fashion excavation at its best.

Teaming up with the British high-street retailer, Alexa Chung is working on a brand new collection called “Archive by Alexa” and which will feature 31 pieces that are not totally new but are reworked iterations of styles that the brand has already produced, handpicked by the model herself. Garments and silhouettes were collected from collections past and then reimagined to take on a modern take.

This appears to be the general direction 2016 is taking us and we are more than just a little interested to see what the FW 2016 Fashion Week will be catering to us next. In the Alexa Chung x Marks & Spencer collaboration, we will be seeing modern fabrications with updated color palettes, looking positively delectable.

“I pulled from stored garments, in-house magazines, and TV adverts from various points in the history of Marks & Spencer to create the collection that I believe looks every bit as relevant today as it did then,” Chung told British Vogue. “It was so fun to be given the keys to the Marks and Spencer archive and such a treat to get to cherry pick the very best of their vast collection of pieces”

The Marks & Spencer brand seems to be enjoying a period full of collaborations and joint capsule projects with various designers, brands and influencers. Archive by Alexa is expected to hit stores in most locations as well as become available online in the month of April. The pieces themselves are to range between $28 and $129 USD, with expectations of Chung’s signature tailoring, collars and perhaps even some loafers in there.

Chung also happens to enjoy well-tailored shorts, peter-pan blouses, androgynous sweaters and floral dresses, pieces that we are positive the archives are full of. It would be rather interesting to see how tastes and past pieces have been matched in the production of this particular capsule. We cannot be sure of exactly what will be included as of yet though and are greatly looking forward to seeing teaser photos and videos, should the team decide to release some.
