Alice + Olivia Spring 2017 Ready-to-Wear Collection – New York Fashion Week

The first impression of the Alice + Olivia spring 2017 ready-to-wear collection is that it is fun and quirky. Stacey Bendet was inspired by her trip to Rome, where she fell in love with the 16th-century Bomarzo gardens that are often known as Park of the Monsters, or “Parco dei Mostri”. The entire collection has a definite summery feel with head wraps, large round sunglasses, maxi skirts and dresses. Strong patterns were shown off in beautiful outfits that were bright and cleanly designed.

Some of the outfits featured muted colors, while others were bright colors paired with brighter patterns and paired with great accessories. A woman’s face with oversized round sunglasses are featured on several pieces in the collection and one of the recurrent accessories in this collection were the perfectly rounded sunglasses in several different colored frames and lenses.

A pair of wide legged, high waisted striped pants paired with a vivid red shirt and neck scarf were accentuated with sunglasses, a head wrap and a cute box shaped purse.

A Grecian style red dress with a front hanging waist tie was paired with a matching turban and a cute little clutch. The ensembles include a cute little patterned skater skirt with three-dimensional embellishments paired with black booties, a cream and black bag with embellished strap and embellished dark round shades.

The skater dress is fun and springtime appropriate with a youthful feel to the aesthetics. A few of the looks in the Alice + Olivia spring/summer 2017 collection were very hippy chic as well.

There are a lot of florals prints, little birds and butterflies in this collection and even a few rainbows! This is a youthful and fun collection that is still appropriate for a wide range of ages.

The maxi dresses are beautiful, vibrant and delicate making them a perfect whimsical set of dresses that exemplify the Alice + Olivia spring to summer 2017 collection. One of the maxi dresses features a stacked rainbow design with a light pink top, red, orange, yellow green and blue tiered ruffled skirt. The top of the maxi dress has very slim shoulder straps, a wrapped, low V-neck top and accentuated waist.
