The Altuzarra fall/winter 2014-2015 collection is another proof of the ever-growing popularity and the talent of the young designer of this fashion house, Joseph Altuzarra. Altuzarra’s fall is uber-elegant, sensual and sophisticated, a fall that you want to live forever! A visit at Art Basel inspired Altuzarra to come up with these exquisite and irresistible wonders that are sure to become the new season’s must-have essentials for a trendsetter look. “Easy with a little bit of grace about it, yet still very sensual,” Altuzarra described it and there couldn’t be any better explanation!
The show at Altuzarra started with a chic double-face coat with a royal blue touch, followed by a short suite-resembling coat in the same refined color matched with a flowy white skirt with high slits. The same chic dark mood was preserved throughout the Altuzarra fall/winter 2014-2015 collection, but it wasn’t only the navy tones and the royal blues that took the main roles, but also the dark emerald green, the dark gray, the tan tones and the blacks. There, however, also came some bright pops of colors too, like vibrant fuchsia and orange, perfectly harmonized with the soft ivory and shining light gray.
Apart from the chic color palette, it was also the overwhelming slits and cuts, as well as the subtle fringes and the sassy bathrobe-style tailoring that took center stage in the Altuzarra fall/winter 2014-2015 collection. The array of body-hugging gray dresses with bright fuchsia and orange stripy inserts was inspired by the magical steelwork of artist Maria Pergay. Sheila Hicks artworks inspired the designer to create the textured hand-woven staples, while Perry Ellis masterpieces gave birth to the funky colorful plaid furs.
While the clothing pieces demonstrated represent the most sizzling aspect of the Altuzarra fall/winter 2014-2015 collection, no less amazing are the high-heeled shoes and boots and the unique metallic necklet. The models’ romantic sleek updos and the minimal makeup with brightly colored eyes came to be the final brushstrokes to Altuzarra’s perfection this fall! Need something else to fall in love with the magic the Altuzarra fall/winter 2014-2015 collection created? Hardly!
