We will probably agree on the fact that Paris Fashion Week is that place where the fashion styles from all the corners of the world clash. When you combine European style, oriental refinement and daring rock-n-roll vibes you get the style characteristic to the French brand, which is known all around the world by the name of its creator – Barbara Bui. The brand Barbara Bui offers luxurious, but yet affordable clothing for women, shoes, accessories and perfume. However, the brand is extremely popular for its iconic perfect fit everyday pants, which have become the signature items of the brand.
The Barbara Bui spring/summer 2015 collection was truly a collection of contrasts. On one hand we had those monochrome pieces in one single color; on the other hand we had pieces combining all the colors of the rainbow and several shiny metallic pieces (these took us back to the Barbara Bui spring 2011 collection). She had combined all white simple mini dresses with long-sleeved colorful jackets, ethnically patterned ankle length pants with simple white tees, white dresses and colorful biker jackets (those were something, weren’t they?), all-white pants with white tees patched with ethnically printed cutouts up on the front and, white pants and matching blouses topped with colorful fringy coats.
At the middle stage of the show the collection entered into the kingdom of all white: white pants designed of a see-through material paired with matching short-sleeved blouses, unique swimsuits with frontal cutouts topped with long jackets, layered asymmetrical dresses, skirts and simple tank tops with matching jackets, very interesting collared well cut tops paired with low rise pants reigned on the catwalk. As we have already mentioned, Bui also presented metallic pieces in silver and gold. First we had patches of silver metallic fabric on all white outfits, and then we saw metallic pants with matching short-sleeved tees and pants topped with all-white collared jackets.
At the end of the show two colors – black and bright orange – were seen adorning the catwalk. Both of them were used to create monochrome looks and provided a very effective and interesting end to the Barbara Bui spring/summer 2015 collection show. Of black pieces we saw gorgeously ethereal combination of black leather pants with matching tops with cutouts in the front topped with a black chiffon jacket, all black short drape dresses, long flowy coats, one-shoulder long-sleeved dresses. Bright orange brought with it playful drape mini dresses and chiffon pants with matching tops.
We can’t but mention the eccentric footwear that the collection featured. The shoes were mainly flat, resembling pointed toe loafers. They were white when combined with metallic outfits, and silver or gold when worn with the rest of the pieces from the collection.
With her Barbara Bui spring/summer 2015 collection, Mrs. Bui proved that it’s possible to combine simple with the sophisticated, monochrome with the colorful, the West with the East (the designer, by the way, is half French and half Vietnamese) and yet get gorgeous results!
