Bershka Spring/Summer 2015 Campaign

The 1970s era is as much an inspiration for Spanish Inditex group company Bershka as it is for most of the fashion brands currently in the business of ready-to-wear garments. The Bershka spring/summer 2015 collection is all about billowing blouses, a boho-chic look, hippie dresses and, surprisingly, micro hemmed shorts. Last we checked these were out of the trend pool for the year, but then again, we might have missed out on something. We’ve also got the truly common halter necks and high waist pants, while fringe jackets are kept close by to ward off the chill. Lacy garments with plunging necklines are also seen dotting the collection for the season, while casual cotton shirts and floral patterning certainly make their own grand entrances all throughout.

Born from a concept in 1998, Bershka currently has stores in 64 different countries, as well as serving the fashion-forward public through an online portal since 2011. Even countries such as Bahrain, Panama, and Tunisia have a Bershka presence, while Russia surprisingly comes second only after Spain in the number of stores it has dotting its land, followed by China and Mexico. The business model adopted by Bershka allows for flexibility in adapting to change, with the fashion trends on the runways becoming the main inspiration for each season’s particular collections. As such, Bershka churns out over 4,000 new models a year, appeasing the masses and propelling the fashion retailer forward in the industry. The target audience is the younger, more hip generations who love technology and enjoy every new trend to the maximum.

When looking at the Bershka spring/summer 2015 campaign, we are definitely reminded of the more youthful, festival attending populations, which would find some of these outfits very appealing. Think black cropped tank top with a black bandeau tightly over it, a whole bunch of “Don’t tell my mom…” quotes emblazoned on the chest. Add a pretty knit jacket over this to allow for a slight protection against the breeze, while still keeping it airy and cool underneath. Now, finish off with string-tie waist sporty shorts, while you are clearly showing off the midriff.

Embroidery is also common enough within the latest runway trends, which is what makes this black micro short and loose blouse combination all the more appealing. That and the fact that we have a pretty deep V plunge at the chest, complete with hanging tassels that are oh-so-1970s. A brimmed hat over the head adds certain chicness to the combination, though those shorts really could use some length. It is so last year to have a second pair of underwear over the first.

A lightweight lacy dress with a string tied at the waist to cinch it in slightly is probably one of the best pieces of the new Bershka spring/summer 2015 collection has to offer. The flimsy, billowing material looks amazing in creating a perfect silhouette, particularly against a setting sun, while the deep V of the cut at the neck definitely adds a pinch of sexy to the otherwise ethereal and pretty look.
