Top diva Beyoncé Knowles is not just a popular figure but a staunch feminist with a keen eye for fashion. This is why her latest collaboration venture with Topshop, putting down the groundwork for Parkwood Topshop Athletic Ltd did not come as much of a surprise for us. When she likes it, she most definitely puts a ring on it and shows off with indisputable certainty that she most definitely plays her part in running the world. The former Destiny’s Child star and modern-day feminist superstar certainly knows how to rile up a crowd, and we’re not talking about taking to the stage for a sexual but empowering performance. No, the “Dreamgirls” star has her mind set on fashion instead this time.

Topshop’s most famous customer, our favourite lady has decided to become a partner in the brand, looking to produce an athletic streetwear collection that will take the market by storm. Fall 2015 is the tentative launch date and we cannot wait to see what’s in store!

This is not merely collaboration according to Topshop owner Sir Philip Green, but the building of a business from the bottom up, with equal 50-50 partnership. Plans have been brewing since Beyoncé’s February visit to London, wherein they decided the athletics sector is the perfect market to target. In all seriousness, the deal has been in the works from around June, taking up to 8 weeks to complete the fine details. We love the idea and find ourselves very much excited to see the beginning of a fruitful partnership between a diva and her favourite brand.

“We have been looking at this category as fashion-inspired fitness develops, and know that this is right in our customers’ heartland,” Green said. “Creating a partnership with Beyoncé, one of the most hard-working and talented people in the world, who spends many hours of her life dancing, rehearsing and training is a unique opportunity to develop this category.”

Topshop in itself is very forward-thinking, edgy, and easily lovable. Fans feedback has been immensely positive, probably because Beyoncé is such a prominent celebrity figure, who serves as a role model to women around the world. If anyone can create motivation to hit the gym and keep fit while staying fashionable, it’s the sparkling diva herself. Sexy, sassy, smart and entirely relatable, Beyoncé Knowles has already got the women at the gym hyped up. We would be surprised if all our iPods did not have a whole collection of Beyoncé songs on repeat!

The fashion brand most certainly was bestowed with the sweet end of the deal as they are now a partner, full-fledged and not simply with celebrity endorsement, with one of the top 100 most influential people in both 2013 and 2014, who also happens to be the highest-paid black musician in history! Beyoncé’s not new to the fashion industry herself, having introduced the House of Deréon in 2005, which already featured some sportswear, denims with fur, and outerwear. Teaming up with House of Brands in 2005 as well, the family business added its own line of footwear. To date, she’s launched different lines in different stores, with one of the latest having been more professional and glamorous in taste through C&A in Brazil. The girl’s got an eye for fashion and she is doing a spectacular job at presenting her creations to the world.

With all this information, the anticipation is thick and the frustration over the wait palpable. We want to be the first to see her designs and there’s little that could satiate that thirst until next fall.
