Bimba & Lola Xmas Party 2015 Lookbook

Spanish retailers seem to be making it big of late, up and coming designers bringing their brands to the world with freshness and a creative streak that does not go unnoticed. Bimba y Lola is among these brands, founded by Uxia and Maria Dominguez, and kept a family affair to date. The name of the brand? That is just inspired by their darling greyhounds, while the designs themselves are of a very personal aesthetic.

Bimba & Lola Xmas Party 2015 Lookbook

“To create Bimba & Lola we look for inspiration in nature, art, film – even in friends and family,” Maria Dominguez has mentioned to Vogue in the past. “We know each other really well and have great respect for one another, which helps when reaching agreements.” It was created in 2005 and currently operates in over 16 countries with a youthful but luxe appeal to it that Vogue has described as Carven meets Jonathan Sanders.

Today, we see their Bimba & Lola Xmas party 2015 lookbook appearing before us, with pieces that we would love to grab for ourselves to party in this Christmas season. That includes white cashmere and little black dresses, sophisticated felt and very Western black leather. There is a general 1970s feel to it with a dash of modern, nothing too explicit, but also very clean in lines and made to look cozy and stylish at once. You will not be going in big ball gowns, but we do see some glitter in the mix!

Some of the looks that should be made mention of include the star spangled maxi dress in white, a sweater-like feature that has home comfort and daylight shopping in mind. For those living in slightly warmer weathers and who would enjoy cutoffs, there are some below the knee culottes in suede that can come in handy, matched with a shirt in the same patterning as the aforementioned dress, a matching dark grey suede jacket thrown on top.

We see black almost seamless crepe trousers and gentle blouses, silver studded leather jackets and gorgeous cashmere coats matched in the milky color and minimalistic design with a turtleneck mini dress, while the piece that really captures our attention is the little black dress with the sleeveless option and plunging cutout on the back, hem to the knees and with a lovely elongating silhouette. Fringe appears on tops and trousers for an exceptionally 1970s design, the Western feel looking quite awesome, particularly with burnt orange cowboy boots and black sweater edging.

As for the accessories, who does not love an exceptionally furry handbag that comes in green, yellow or purple, as a clutch or oversized handbag? Leather straps, silver studs and big blue, gold-ringed hearts appear on oversized jewelry pieces, hanging hearts appearing on the ears. As for some glitter? That can be found on the slingback shoes in coral, an alternate in silver with chunky heels and no slingback, as well as through rainbow colored handbags. The whole Bimba & Lola Christmas 2015 collection is fun and silly, chic in its own way and quite lovable.
