New York Fashion Week closed its doors on February 14, letting London Fashion Week talk, which started on February 15 and will go on until February 19. Today, on February 18, legendary British fashion house Burberry Prorsum literally opened its doors in front of the audience and the world in the most dramatic and romantic way, escorted by Tom Odell, who was singing “Hold Me” live. And, yes, the newest Burberry Prorsum fall/winter 2013-2014 collection, named “Trench Kisses”, was extremely feminine, elegant, simplistic, perfectly polished, and, of course, very-very Burberry! The creative director of the brand, Christopher Bailey, definitely managed to make everyone present once again fall in love with British impeccable tailoring, incredible classiness and the iconic Burberry trench coat.
No wonder, the show delivered by Burberry Prorsum is one of the most anticipated ones throughout the Fashion Week every season, as it always manages to deliver something unique, gorgeous and fabulous. This year, the brand predicts a very classy and ladylike fall, filled with plain silhouettes, monochrome pieces and quite autumn-ready colors. The Burberry Prorsum fall/winter 2013-2014 show opened with the brand’s iconic piece, a Burberry trench in camel with rubber sleeves, collar and gun flaps, as well as with metallic golden trimmings on the pockets and a golden belt. And then, the models showcased an array of cappuccino, camel, ivory, brown, black, white, red and burgundy colors that either came alone or finished off with golden metallic touches.
Perfectly structured shapes, eyelet studs and metallic details, fringing, hearts, leopard and giraffe prints, stripes, optical python prints, earth colors and subtle ombre effects, laminated leather, calfskin and velvet-finish rubber are the attributes of the newest Burberry Prorsum fall/winter 2013-2014 collection. There was lots of attention paid to the collars, which mostly featured metallic gold finishes, as well as to the waist that was highlighted through a metallic belt.
Femininity and elegance are definitely the words for the newest Burberry Prorsum fall/winter 2013-2014 collection, as the line includes an array of classic knee-length dresses, skirts and coats, but no pants or shorts. There are fabulous high-waisted knee-length skirts featuring velvet-finish rubber that come paired with leopard printed blouses, heart-printed shirts, dresses and coats, laminated leather pencil skirts and trenches, knitted sweaters, fringed leather skirts with eyelet studs, smart shirts, blouses and shirt dresses in stripes.
When it comes to classic Burberry accessories, the looks showcased on the catwalk were finished off with studded, animal and heart printed little bags and oversized ones, metal hoop belts, kitten heel wedges and elegant eyewear.
