Cacharel Spring/Summer 2016 Collection – Paris Fashion Week

Since its creation in 1962, Cacharel has always been synonymous with femininity and sophistication. No wonder, its youthful and cheerful style has been presented once again in all its glory at Paris Fashion Week. While most of the designers and fashion houses focus on creating revolutionary fashion lines for spring featuring new unconventional designs, styles and trends, Cacharel stays true to its style ideology and brings spring back to spring unveiling a collection drenched in blooming floral patterns and lightweight fabrics so much perfect for the warm season. The Cacharel spring/summer 2016 collection is all about a romantic French style, one that’s super wearable and versatile while also being feminine with hints of retro and boho-chic motifs.

Since summer 2012, Chinese fashion designers Ling Liu and Dawei Sun have been working as creative directors of the Fashion house, giving their unique Eastern prospective to European fashion. Their creative partnership is giving Cacharel a good chance to explore female fashion, because their style combines Sun’s structured tailored lines with Liu’s ethereal aesthetic. Liu’s point of view on fashion is most likely to be noticed first in this collection, mainly because of some uber-feminine floral dresses and pastel colored shirts that romantically combined with A-line skirts and dark pink lipsticks would make anyone giggle. Oval and squared glasses, along with middle part hairstyles and fluid blouses, reveal the director’s desire to instill some Seventies vibes into the Cacharel spring 2016 collection. Generally, eyewear plays an important role in spicing up these pretty looks and for spring Cacharel has a wide variety of styles to choose from. At the same time, some adorable cherry patterned fabrics fall in with Cacharel’s desire to inspire young women to seek beauty and freedom in everything (fashion included), and bring the collection close to its origins (during the early Seventies Cacharel was totally mastering the art of creating must-haves blouses).

Nehru collar sleeveless shirts along with front slit blouses and jabot tops give Sun’s approach to the line-up, denoting this young designer’s ability to combine Chinese tradition with European modernity. Impeccable design and tailoring are also to be seen in each skirt and dress showcased in the lookbook, giving the collection a typical Haute Couture vibe. A striped Empire dress with deep-V neckline gives fluidity and a bohemian allure to the collection, whereas a pair of white shorts reminds us of its more youthful side.

Compared to other brands, Cacharel’s spring 2016 collection is probably the less experimental and conceptual one unveiled so far. However, as far as the Seventies never disappoint those who are looking for a classical yet modern version of a feminine line, Cacharel offers a win-win source of fashion inspiration for the spring to come with its new line-up.
