Calvin Klein Pre-Fall 2015 Collection

Francisco Costa knows how to dress the modern woman in the laid-back style, which is also extremely elegant and feminine. The Calvin Klein pre-fall 2015 collection is all you need for creating day-to-day effortless chic looks without trying too hard. It’s easy, it’s offbeat, casual and unique and it has all the power to inject loads of attitude and confidence into your transitional style. Think minimal this season, as “less is more” is back to fashion.

Calvin Klein Pre-Fall 2015 Collection

Although we are used to seeing much subdued colors for the pre-fall season, Costa broke the stereotype, presenting a collection in soft light shades, from whites and beiges to sands. However, there you can find also the shades of deep brown and burgundy, quite often used in the stylish ombre technique for a higher impact. On the whole, the Calvin Klein pre-fall 2015 collection looks quite fresh and wearable with an emphasis placed on the easy silhouettes and modesty.

In his new designs, Costa managed to combine influences from different fashion epochs at a time, as the main shapes recall the Sixties and Seventies with the specific street style attitude of the Nineties derived from “the cool of Kate at Calvin”, as Costa himself noted. It’s actually quite characteristic of Costa not to be too straightforward when citing a certain time period, as he is more into personalizing it and making it look completely different and so Calvin.

Knitwear plays an important role in the whole collection, however, we also see big proportions of luxurious leather and suede used. The opening looks show lovely mini knitted dresses in light colors, featuring different shapes and styles and all looking so innocent and feminine. There is one patchwork design that reminds of an elongated sweater, so versatile and timeless, the perfect thing for the chilly days.

The separates carry a distinctive sporty vibe, like we discover it in case of the sand-colored cropped knit top matched with a super mini suede skirt. While all those knitted and lightly colored ensembles are drenched in a girly allure, the patchwork leather designs unleash the wilder side of the Calvin Klein girl. Those are timeless staples to radiate luxury and sexiness. Especially outstanding is the pair of wide-leg leather pants with retro influences that comes teamed with a white knitted crop sweater with a fluffy neck. Then you can also find more universal leather designs, like the mini skirt matched with the shaggy patchwork sweater.

The outerwear is chic as always, this time embedded with retro influences feeling young and elegant. The closing looks are all about knitwear: those are stylish separates of maxi knitted skirts matched with flirty knitted crop tops in neutral tones. Apparently, the choice of the neutral, light color palette wasn’t by chance, as “Light colors did extremely well this season, so we deliberately brought them back. It made sense,” as Costa explained.
