Without the enchantingly minimalist, modern and elegant Calvin Klein spring/summer 2015 collection the final day of New York Fashion Week spring 2015 would have been so poor and boring. “New spectrum” is the theme of this marvelous collection, which has effortless chic and contemporary imprinted all over! Francisco Costa has used all his tailoring charm to make these designs perfect to bits. A beautiful play of textures, various shapes and styles is the next important ingredient of this stylish recipe. From the color palette used to the curious shapes, everything was made to be ultra-wearable and memorable in this collection, every design was there to prove the power of simplicity.
The Calvin Klein woman goes monochrome and simplistic this spring, ditching every kind of prints and patterns, every distracting detail and accessory and going for elegant shapes, towering high platforms in the color of the outfits, sleek updos and nude makeup looks. She still looks creative, bold and feminine, showing a nice way of combining clashing pieces in a single look that leads to perfection.
Navy blue, white, nude and passionate red is the entire Calvin Klein spring/summer 2015 collection, which presents only monochrome looks that never look boring. Instead of going for patterns to liven up the designs, Costa has used lots of leather, see-through chiffon, shimmery materials and different colors combined in the geometric manner, which show his unique mind in designing. Thus, the show opened with polished navy blue looks, featuring elegant culottes worn with below-the-knee dresses, tea-length skirts topped with classy coats or below-the-knee dresses. It was here that layering could be seen, which was used throughout the entire line.
There were two color-blocked cream and navy blue dresses, which featured a rectangular patchwork in the contrasting hue: if the dress was cream, the patchwork was navy blue, and vice versa. Then the slight transparency vibes made an appearance, being used for the same style skirts, which still looked modest because of the coats or tunics topping them. A couple of simple black tops were also see-through.
Short lengths used for a couple of lovely flared dresses and deep red hues came to slightly change the theme of the Calvin Klein spring/summer 2015 collection, still preserving the overall style thanks to the simplicity of the designs and the clear shapes. Next, we saw a couple of all-white looks and creamy ones, all layered in the same manner, and some smashing shimmery layered dresses closing the show.
It was a sober collection, which was displaying the endless possibility of layering and combining various textures to create exciting monochrome looks that will never pass by. We hope you have perfectly understood the style lessons of the Calvin Klein spring/summer 2015 collection!
