Carolina Herrera Designs a Capsule Collection for MyTheresa.com

Carolina Herrera has teamed up with MyTheresa.com to launch a capsule collection inspired by her first ever ready-to-wear line created back in 1981. Set to launch online at MyTheresa.com on May 10, 2016, the collection is all about Herrera’s signature ladylike and glamorous style, bringing in effortless pieces in a modern spirit that aren’t actually that complex in design, but rather let a woman have fun making it their own.

The one piece revealed from the Carolina Herrera x MyTheresa 2016 capsule collection is a chic ground-skimming gold lame gown with an asymmetric design, a perfect piece to hit any elegant gathering looking and feeling like that special guest, the queen of the ball. In addition, the collection includes a shirtdress in a bold zebra print, a maroon velvet military jacket, a skirt and even jewelry and a pair of embellished sneakers worked out in collaboration with Eytys, a famous footwear brand. With the price tags set between $250 for the jewelry pieces and $3700 for the luxurious gold gown, the collection is pretty affordable taking into account the fact that it’s all about unique designer samples in limited numbers.

According to WWD, the launch of the Carolina Herrera x MyTheresa capsule collection will be accompanied by a short mockumentary film by Danny Sangra, titled “Something Unpredictable”, starring Kat Clements. The collection not only pays a tribute to Herrera’s iconic heritage, but also celebrates her 35 years in the industry. This is also an amazing opportunity for the designer to reach a wider audience taking into account the fact that e-commerce is currently in a full bloom, showing the best retail results ever. Then again, this is a brilliant chance for us to invest in precious Carolina Herrera creations that never fail to inject the right dose of femininity and elegance into our wardrobes.

What inspired Herrera to enter such a partnership with MyTheresa is her desire to celebrate the craftsmanship of her New York atelier and to bring back the vibrant energy of her first runway collection, which was staged at the Metropolitan Club for a star-filled front row, including Andy Warhol and Bianca Jagger among others.

One of the latest successful collaborations between a designer house and an e-tailer website is the ‘90s inspired Tommy Hilfiger collection for MyTheresa, while Alessandro Michele’s Gucci for Net-a-Porter capsule collection is one of the most highly anticipated ones for fashion enthusiasts currently. While Gucci’s collection hits Net-a-Porter on May 12, you can be one of the first to get hands on Carolina Herrera’s capsule collection already tomorrow!
