Carolina Herrera Spring/Summer 2015 Collection – New York Fashion Week

The Carolina Herrera spring/summer 2015 collection just unveiled at New York Fashion Week spring 2015 is the perfect definition of femininity and elegance, something, which has always defined Carolina Herrera’s style. For the coming spring season her designs are all about flowers, meaning both the color codes of a blooming flower, as well as all sorts of the prettiest flowers on earth used as prints, including lilies, parrot tulips and magnolias. This led to unbelievably bubbly and romantic clothing pieces, which made the models look like pretty flowers yearning for sunrays in the morning.

Unlike her previous collections, which were mainly focused on classy silhouettes and elegant styles, the newest Carolina Herrera spring/summer 2015 collection took a contemporary road, showing the beautiful play with textures, fabrics and small details that really mattered. The curious way of mixing and matching beautiful floral motifs with graphic patterns and in some cases pixilating huge floral prints into a variety of graphic shapes (this made those refined dresses look like cracked pictures) is the next technique Herrera used to stun everyone. Slightly oversized and cropped silhouettes, beautiful draping, origami folds, big patch pockets ad Perspex belts are other details used to give a modern edge to these lovely designs.
The show started with a fresh air of white pieces, being mini dresses and maxi gowns, as well as skirt and pant suits defined by lots of texture. These designs either came completely crisp and monochrome, or featured oversized floral prints matched with graphic motifs. Right after this easy feel an energizing spirit reigned the catwalk showing lots of bright corals and pastel yellows, either put with pure white pieces or coming alone and looking bolder. We saw some monochrome coral dresses and yellow ones, both minis and maxis, some of which used a spongy techno crêpe material, which added a sporty touch to those elegant and classy designs.

As the show started to develop, the models came out wearing geisha-style alternatives, like that robe-resembling coatdress with floral prints, or the trios featuring a mini skirt, a top and a cropped jacket with florals (their hair also bore geisha motifs, being gathered into sleek updos with interesting “bows”). The patterned organza tops and blazers, the breathtaking princess gowns and the maxi dresses topped by cropped tops in the same colors and styles as the dresses themselves came to put a beautiful finale to this show, making the Carolina Herrera spring/summer 2015 collection one of the most jaw-dropping lines for the coming spring season!
Some designs in the Carolina Herrera spring/summer 2015 collection truly resembled masterpieces of a talented artist and we are sure to see many of these gowns in the upcoming red carpet events. Still, it also has something bewitching for elegant ladies, who want to look modern and chic during the day too!
