Carolina Herrera Spring/Summer 2013 RTW – New York Fashion Week

Feminine, flawless and airy are the words to describe the newest Carolina Herrera spring/summer 2013 collection unveiled at New York Fashion Week. The designer concentrated on slim silhouettes made of flowy fabrics, such as chiffon, organza, tulle and georgette. The major part of the collection was taken by light and lovely dresses, but there were also variations on abstract prints in dazzling combos of pastels with sprinkles of orange and black. Whether it’s about a gorgeous night dress or a perfect casual outfit that is feminine, elegant and modern, the collection of Carolina Herrera has you covered this upcoming warm season.

“The collection is all about lightness and fluidity…The color palette emphasizes the overall feeling of the collection with soft and subtle shades of pale blue, sea foam, glacier and some touches of orange and yellow,” the designer tried to explain her spring 2013 collection.
Overall, Herrera’s elegance and femininity was present throughout the Carolina Herrera spring/summer 2013 collection. Each of the billowy gowns was accompanied by skinny belts, this way perfectly accentuating the feminine figure. The color palette was in whites, pale blues and greens, as well as eye-popping oranges, yellow and golden tones. Some pieces came in a color-blocked version and there were also abstract prints used. Several of the lace shirtdresses oozed a subtle edgy vibe, still stuck to the designer’s signature of impeccable polish.
The beauty at Carolina Herrera was natural and elegant. The hair was straight and sleek, while the face was bare and the accent was placed on the sexy smoky eye makeup.
