Every day or so a new fashion campaign is released for the alluring collections we have already had the chance to admire lately, and one of the most anticipated of those is the Chanel fall 2015 campaign. The famed French fashion house has started putting the first shots of their amazing collection ads into web for us to fall into intrigue. Chanel is the one brand that makes us jaw-dropped not only by its exquisite pieces, but also by a whole theme extravaganza it arranges every time. The campaigns always appear mind-blowingly enchanting colorful movies with striking beauties coming up and down in Chanel luxurious garments. However, we might receive a counter-shock this time. You do remember the curious typical French café idea of Chanel fall 2015 collection runway show with bow-tied waiters making coffee and cleaning glasses behind the wood-paneled counters, where the models mixed their catwalk mission with theatrical performances? Everyone got thrilled to know what the ads would be offering and now we are struck by their simplicity.
The first pictures of the Chanel fall 2015 campaign depict extreme modesty and noiseless atmosphere being black and white with minimal surrounding décor: just the strong and reserved character in the middle. Karl Lagerfeld went way too plain and different from his usual pictures with supermodels, celebrities, his most loved “it” girls or at least Paris ambiance creating perfect chance to marvel the clothes with minimal distraction. Of course, the choice of the heroes wouldn’t be random and the proof is that these first pictures feature two gorgeous models – Anna Ewers and Lindsey Wixson. We have the impression that Chanel’s whole history is represented in just two pictures with their favorite tweed, knitwear and classic two-color shoes from the runway collection. The German model and Alexander Wang’s muse, Anna wears a long tweed skirt with a high slit matched with a knitted sweater and she carries a knit scarf on her hands. Her pose seems like taken from a real-life motion, which makes the picture alive.
The American model Lindsey stands in a somehow similar pose to those of bygone eras as if waiting for someone to answer her. Having the experience of working with Chanel and other major brands before, Wixson feels absolutely at home perfectly rocking the knitwear jacket, long flared tweed pants and another knit jacked on her hand. We can say Chanel has never seemed so calm and concise, but as they say, stillness foresees a storm. Great hint could serve the messy Iroquois and crazy eyeliner wings that models sport. This is definitely a novelty, which might totally change the image of Chanel girl for us.
While this is not the most exciting campaign of Chanel, we see a certain addictive nature in the shots that makes us have the unexplained wish of upcoming fall to be colder: we could wrap ourselves in those amazing layers of luxurious pieces then. The upcoming pictures will probably open up more stunning ideas of plain-and-luxury mix for us and having the utmost trust for Lagerfeld’s taste.
