Dramatic is perhaps the best word to describe the stunning dresses featured in the brand-new Christian Siriano spring/summer 2015 collection, unveiled on the third day of New York Fashion Week spring 2015. The creative multidimensional glass sculptures of Sergio Redegalli and American artist Tara Donovan’s large-scale sculptures inspired the designer to come up with an utterly ethereal and breathtaking line that thoroughly captured the essence of “transparency”. As a result the models walked down the runway wearing surprisingly gorgeous and outstanding dresses and princess gowns, even the simplest ones of which managed to stun a lot!
The show of the Christian Siriano spring/summer 2015 collection kicked off with an array of crisp-white dresses, some of which appeared to be maximum polished and minimalist ideal even for wearing to the office, while others stood out with the mishmash of textures and design elements. Layering, inserts of organza, pleating and lush feathers were the details used to give texture and interest to those monochrome dresses. There was a creative duo of a plain white and simplistic crop top matched with an uber-breathtaking feathered full skirt reaching the floor that could never pass by unnoticed even amongst the most opulent and fantastic red-carpet dresses and gowns.
This innocent white fantasy later shifted to icy glass-green tones and turquoise-like blues. In this range of alternatives too you could feel the maximum femininity and elegance the designer had practiced to make his line that cool. Brocade, lace and soft silk secured the total charm of these designs, which looked so minimalistic thanks to the monochrome fabrics used, yet still extremely unique thanks to the creative forms, cuts and textured mastered.
As the show started to develop, we also saw emerald greens and navy blues used for a number of undeniably show-stopping evening gowns and cocktail dresses, designed to make a woman feel and look even more beautiful. Intricate glass beading, tricky cuts and transparency inserts, leaf-like embroidery and lots of layers, ruffles and draping led to one-of-a-kind designs even the pickiest fashionisers would love to acquire. Some of the navy blue dresses featured a glass-like glossy liquid texture, symbolizing Donovan’s stunning creations.
The Christian Siriano spring/summer 2015 collection show was closed by a bold see-through number, being a crystal encrusted jumpsuit that was accessorized with a pair of heeled sandals adorned with spiky crystals. It was when you again recalled the inspiration behind the entire line, hardly resisting your admiration!
