Christopher Kane’s First Spring 2016 Ad Campaign

Bring in some colors, Christopher Kane! And not only colors, we see you’ve got a few playful surprises for us. Amaze us, we are ready! All this excitement is for Christopher Kane’s first ad campaign as a brand. And it’s all about fringe!

Christopher Kane’s First Spring 2016 Ad Campaign

As you might know, fringe is one of the newest trends that we’ll see in the streets this spring. This addition to your daily wardrobe might be very fun, if you, just like us, are tired of trends that stay for too long and refuse to yield their fame to newer ones.

Kane’s new spring 2016 collection is one of the few brands that actually took fringe seriously. We have a feeling it will pay off. He also added his own unique touch by making the fringe multi-colored.

The campaign is beautifully styled by Joe McKenna. And the renaissance you’re noticing in the images, that’s Harley Weir’s signature all over the campaign. A little drama never hurt nobody.

Shake it up wearing Kane, shake your fringe up! British model Alice Buckingham is showing off the colorful fringed dresses and a few strange gimmicks that might be too uncomfortable to wear in the spring sun… not to point fingers, but yes, those plastic pockets could be for the sake of art only. Nonetheless, Buckingham is also showing off the plastic pocket and a plastic semi-pant… under a dress? Sorry Kane, but even with everyday shocks of the fashion world, we might need some official explanation about what these are.

Experiments? Could be, and that’s exactly what Kane told to WWD, “I look forward to experimenting and building my brand image through this medium; it’s an exciting time for us.” Yass Kane, we are looking forward to your experiments too.

Christopher Kane’s First Spring 2016 Ad Campaign

One thing we can see clearly is that such an eccentric campaign could be shot nowhere else but in London. The fashion community of this city has seen too much to be served anything less. The Christopher Kane spring 2016 campaign was shot in minimalistic style in a very simple indoors location, with slight indications of graffiti and graphic themes.

Back to the fringe! We’ve seen these dresses at Kane’s spring 2016 show, but they never looked so fun on the runway! If you’re a Kane fan for his art and aesthetics, then you’re probably enjoying this campaign already. But if you were looking for some wearable fashion and ended up here, let us not disappoint you and say that once you take out the plastic add-ons, the fringe dresses are pretty wearable for everyday life or special occasions, depending how you choose to style and accessorize them.

You still have time to digest this campaign, as it will be debuting in March. As spring starts, get in line for such top publications as Vogue, because that’s where you’ll maybe find more information about Kane’s upcoming website and even more fringe!
