Courtney Love to Launch A Capsule Collection for Nasty Gal

“We’ve got a killer collaboration coming soon with one of the baddest bitches of all time. Any guesses?” American retailer Nasty Gal posted this tantalizing tagline on its Instagram page, alongside a neck-down photo of a body-bearing blonde, tacking on the question for fans to become involved. Some made guesses of Gwen Stefani, who would have also likely made a killer collaboration with the brand, but many viewers instantly recognized the photo as one of Courtney Love from her days as Hole’s frontrunner, in this case for the album cover of Celebrity Skin.

Courtney Love to Launch A Capsule Collection for Nasty Gal

The Courtney Love x Nasty Gal collection is planned for 2016, which is right around the corner now. No specific times have been released for any length of the project, so we could be in for any number of months to wait. But of course knowing about the impending collection is plenty of cause for excitement, especially looking at who we’re dealing with. On Instagram, the retailer encouraged viewers to sign up for its newsletter, since this will be the quickest way for anyone to hear about the official times the collaboration will go underway.

Nasty Gal has always been on the rebellious side of fashion geared toward a young demographic, and it’s no secret that Courtney Love’s style, especially from the ‘90s, has influenced many contributors to the fashion industry. So Nasty Gal plus Courtney Love plus the now-trending ‘90s grunge, there’s nothing else that needs to be said; the collection is going to be modern and trendy.

Love isn’t new to Nasty Gal’s repertoire, however. In fact, back in March, when the brand hosted a launch party for its second boutique in California, Love made a special appearance. There’s something special about Love’s connection with this brand, in that she brings an essence of timelessness to the whole operation. The brand’s desired demographic is not lost on the older celebrity, as her quirky rocker style can be broadcast to girls of all ages – from 9 to 109, and beyond.

We’re expecting plenty of Love’s iconic rocker grunge to shine through in the upcoming collection. But her unmistakable essence of glamor and elegance will add a beautiful finishing polish for everything. The retail brand seems to be taking a lot into consideration, based on current trends and celebrity relevance, so it must have been a simple leap to tap Courtney Love for this new collection.

‘90s grunge has hit the fashion market hard, from luxury to retail brands, so those who love and embrace this trend will embrace Love and her collaboration with Nasty Gal.
