Cuteness, grace, fun and a pinch of mystery. This is what the Diane von Furstenberg spring/summer 2014 collection is made of. “Be your own oasis”, this is how the designer explains the theme of the new DVF line unveiled at New York Fashion Week. We can only imagine the number of deep sighs girly-girls would release while watching the elegant and brightly smiling models walk on the runway, their outfits being just as bright.
Classic black-and-white themes here are put in the most graceful and naughty combinations possible. V-shaped necklines of simple, yet elegant black top with shiny black and silver gather skirt, lovely cocktail length dresses, floor-length smooth gowns ranging from classic red to sapphire and ultramarine blue and shaded English Blue: the color palette is more than rich.
Animal motives used in the Diane von Furstenberg spring/summer 2014 collection are also worth mentioning. Especially we can highlight the prairie prints on some pieces, one of which Diane came out wearing for the final bow. Other significant part about the line is the line of the pretty, brown-cream combinations used with some shorts-top, skirt-top pairs. The wonderfully shaped halters put an additional accent on the femininity of the pieces.
The sunny red prints paired with blue overtones in some of the prints were just awesome, creating a fabulous color play, refreshing and bright. Among the colors used to create the Diane von Furstenberg spring/summer 2014 collection, the sparkly golden had its own place introduced via stylish shorts and mini length dresses, at times matched with some additional sparkling details on them. The petticoats used in some cocktail dresses were probably the cutest elements of the line.
This collection is, in fact, the best representation of Elegance and the Beautiful on the runway of New York Fashion Week. Any fashioniser will look like a real cutie-pie in any of these magnificent outfits of Diane von Furstenberg. The elegance is triumphant again! The show must go on!
