The Diesel Black Gold spring/summer 2014 collection stayed true to the brand’s iconic style and brought a parade of leather and denim looks with a sporty vibe. The creative director of Diesel, Andreas Melbostad tried to picture the “duality of women” in his spring 2014 collection by showing off the dark and light sides of the Diesel woman through his favorite black and white colors. Actually, the entire show was kind of a development of colors, starting with white and dying with black with subtle pinks and greens flashing out occasionally as if to break that duality!
The light side of the Diesel Black Gold spring/summer 2014 collection was demonstrated in the beginning of the show through a parade of white knitted pieces and brushed denim looks. In this section of the collection, you’ll see lots of mirrored accents, eyelets, layers, rivets, soft transparencies and asymmetric shapes. There are lots of delicate blouses with unbuttoned bottom buttons, short shorts with frayed hems, mini skirts, breezy shirts and ripped jeans in crisp white, blush pink and delicate green hues.
Like anything good, the light side of the Diesel Black Gold spring/summer 2014 collection also came to an end. However, no less graceful dark black came to replace it! Edgy, yet sophisticated, these leather leggings and rock-inspired pants, skirts, tops and jackets came embellished with mirrors, studs and grommets. They were matched with breezy printed shirts and simple black tops again with unbuttoned bottom buttons.
The Diesel Black Gold spring/summer 2014 collection is definitely one of the most youthful, fresh and wearable lines demonstrated at New York Fashion Week for the upcoming bright season! Still doubting? Wait a few more months and you’ll see it all around you!
