One of Christian Dior’s favorite occupations in his childhood was to sit on a rock plunging into the beauty of the surroundings and his thoughts, even in spite of the bad weather. He has always found immense inspiration in nature for his brilliant collections, and so does Raf Simons taking us to the designer’s favorite spots to shoot the latest Dior fall 2015 campaign. The Christian Dior fall/winter 2015-2016 collection left us all spellbound during the latest runway show and after the staggering campaign with Rihanna, this time the famous fashion house stuns with an inspirational work going back to the brand’s historical roots. Captured by Belgian fashion photographer Willy Vanderperre, the shots feature the Australian model Julia Nobis, the Argentinian model and Prada muse Mica Arganaraz and the American model Natalie Westling by the seaside wearing amazing pieces from the collection.
How else could we get so intrigued and high in desire if not looking at the beauties sitting on the English Channel seashore wearing chic, glamorous and priced pieces accentuated with metallic collars that have rigid sharp edges, or extreme tight booties of length varying from right above the ankle to high up to the thighs sitting on legs like second skin? We see a lot of black in the shots: keeping the basic classic fashion trend of that color Raf Simons created masculine suits, straight capris, loose short skirts and dresses that have a mixed taste of romantic and reserved feel. However, in the aim to avoid too strict and dark looks, these blacks are paired with graphic cross-body bags, red and peachy collars, booties with colorful patterns. There are also several pieces in other colors than black, like the pink, striped straight pants suit teamed with ankle booties of mahogany-violet pattern. We also love the furry mahogany striped dress that has a V-shape back: it looks so splendid on Mica with an exquisite match of the strong character of the dress and the model’s thick eyebrows that are on fleek. The latter is in the duo picture of Mica and Julia, who is also wearing the same dress in blackish blue hues. What is most adorable about that dress is that the fur is not entirely matte: it has some shimmer, which adds grandeur to the wearer’s overall look. We certainly see the firm position of accessories in the collection with bags of diagonal graphic stripes, collars and reflecting mirror-sunglasses, which are nicely trimmed with animal prints. The makeup is kept as simple and minimalist as possible to fit the surroundings unlike the crazy dark blackish eyeshadows we saw in the runway.
Being one of the major leading fashion houses, Dior always fascinates us with its stunning pieces. The Christian Dior fall 2015 campaign is improbably excellent. We are once more falling for those ever-classic designs making a wish to obtain them as soon as possible. Hopefully, that will become a reality, but until that moment, we will sit here and admire the breathtaking pictures of this campaign.
