The inspiration of the new DKNY fall/winter 2015-2016 collection is pleats and jewels. Perfect for the New York Fashion Week, the world renowned New York fashion house DKNY procured such a perfectly glamorous ready-to-wear collection for the fall/winter 2015-2016 seasons that we were fully enthralled throughout; especially so when we realized that the ears were showing and they were beautifully fashioned with ornate ear jackets and pearls. It’s edgy and so perfectly New York. It also created the perfect image of the ambitious girl on the go, who can look fabulous while still getting things done with major success.
Oversized blazers, funnel neck sweaters and below the knee dresses were all the rage on the runway yesterday as Donna Karan revealed her modern collection with a 1970s flare. The trends definitely had a place on the runway and the fit, flare and flounce silhouettes sashayed their way beautifully down the runway. While many might say it was menswear inspired, we beg to digress. On the contrary, we’d say the pieces are the very makings of the modern woman who can still look feminine while wear chunkier, less fitted items of clothing.
Founded back in 1984 by Donna Karan, New York has only gained by seeing the Donna Karan New York brand soar to new heights over the years. Fashion accessories, leather goods and watches all find their way into the DKNY collections for men, women and children, while the label evolves year by year to become one of the best in the industry. Of late, the famous supermodel Cara Delevingne has been the face of the brand for multiple seasons. Now, we see the gorgeous new line grace the New York Fashion Week runway and we are excited to say the least. We see embellishment and pops of high-impact color, which includes a gorgeous electric blue V-neck, while fluorescent red trouser peek through the line-up as well, mixed and matched with a handsome turquoise turtleneck sweater.
Stones and sequins are a common factor among the whole of the DKNY fall/winter 2015-2016 collection. This includes the camel coat with a lone glittering silver lapel. There were blooms in the crowd as well, as is a common part of the fall 2015 fashion trends. Not all the pieces were hailed as amazing, and of course we can agree with this assessment. It is rare for any designer to create a line-up of 40 outfits that all are of incredible beauty and quality. So long as most of them are fun, trending and utterly coveted by the average woman, the designer can go home happy to have achieved something great!
While the DKNY fall 2015 rtw collection begins with the electric blue sweater over a white turtleneck and mini length camel hued skirt, topped off with a long mid-calf length tailored coat, we end with a perfectly black number, wherein we have a mini dress in dark grey with a pleated tulle skirt underneath, while an equally long coat covers the ensemble to ward off the frost. The shoes are intriguing as well, with a black and white combination across the line, shiny black pieces that are either loafers or laced ankle boots, with white platforms or white socks. We even have a Mary Jane or two appearing somewhere in the mix. At the end of the day, we probably love the electric blue with white mixing of colors the best, appearing in the first few pieces walked down the runway.
