DKNY Spring/Summer 2015 Collection – New York Fashion Week

“New York Tribes.” This was the source of inspiration of the brand-new DKNY spring/summer 2015 collection that has just got unveiled during New York Fashion Week 2015. Apparently, New York tribes looked/look this cool in spring and we are more than sure that there will be lots of modern fashionisers out there, who’d express a strong desire to join any of those tribes. An unexpected mishmash of colors, prints, styles and vibes – this is what the spring line of Donna Karan’s youthful line is all about. Filled with absolutely jaw-dropping and one-of-a-kind clothing pieces, this collection has been designed for fashionisers with lots of personality and self-confidence, since only they know how to rock such statement-making looks in the street, standing out in the crowd and being the next trendsetter around!

DKNY Spring/Summer 2015 Collection - New York Fashion Week
The DKNY spring/summer 2015 collection show started with a burst of red colors, which were mostly matched with navy blue hues either in the manner of prints and patterns or like separates of two different hues. Thus the first look was a trio of clashing clothing pieces – a tea-length straight skirt in navy blue and red stripes, an oversized geometrically printed sweater and a flared pleated mini skirt topping the printed straight one. What’s more, a pair of red and navy blue colored sneakers finished off the look. We start to wonder here how it is possible to combine sporty vibes with a girly style, a classy retro piece and an oversized item in such a skillful manner. Well, such types of looks aren’t for everyone, yet they do help one land in the spotlight instantly!
The coming looks were in the same spirit: mixing red with navy blue, stripes with abstract patterns and oversized tops with below-the-knee skirts. In this range of clothing pieces there was a gorgeous full-skirt red dress reaching the tea length and matched with the same tennis shoes. After seeing some more cropped tops, oversized jackets, mini skirts and dresses, the runway suddenly switched this mood to pastel hues, particularly baby blue, pastel yellow and green. While the colors changed, the principle of matching various items with each other remained the same. Especially outstanding were the combos of striped dresses or striped skirts and tops matched with highly bejeweled mini dresses with deep V-neckline.

The fantasy fusion of styles didn’t stop here, as later the models came out wearing stylish black pieces either adorned with minimalistic prints or encrusted with jewels, as well as black-and-white geometrically printed separates, which definitely looked more wearable despite the dizzy prints. Some see-through black pieces and opulent golden alternatives came to bring some fresh ideas of special occasion looks.
The finale of the DKNY spring/summer 2015 collection show was utterly breathtaking and delicate featuring head-to-toe crisp white looks, which beautifully played with textures, layers and oversized silhouettes. This range of options was paired with white trainer shoes.
From the beginning of the show till the very last look, the DKNY spring/summer 2015 collection was only surprising, capturing the hearts of some of the brand’s fans and disappointing others. We can only state that tastes and styles differ, and thanks to this attitude-filled collection upcoming spring will have one more creative style to offer to fashionisers with totally different personalities and preferences!
