We have seen many amazing themes, trends and creative design interpretations in the latest pre-fall 2015 fashion lines, yet the DSquared2 pre-fall 2015 collection still manages to surprise us with its opulent ethnic and folkloric influences merged with subtle masculine vibes, sexiness and lots of luxury. For the upcoming transitional season the DSquared2 girl indulges in frivolous mini dresses with fluffy skirts featuring the most complex prints and patterns, where there is absolutely no room for a restrained color palette. It’s bold, it’s creative and it’s definitely for the self-confident and creative fashionisers, for whom putting together outstanding outfits that scream for attention is just a cakewalk!
We could never believe that Gypsy and Russian influences could look so amazing when combined together. We might have considered it too much excluding the possibility of using more than one folkloric theme in a single look, yet the DSquared2 pre-fall 2015 collection skillfully proves the opposite. Dean and Dan Caten weren’t afraid to create shocking contrasts by intermingling blanket-like knitted fabrics with grungy black leather and flirty fringes in a number of bold looks, like the high-waisted ethnic skirt with a leather insert on the waist and a side slit that looked so chic in combination with the simplistic black turtleneck, or the pair of deconstructed leather culottes with a quilted design and lots of punk rock zips that came teamed with a knitted turtleneck sweater with ethnic patterns.
From rich burgundy and red to black, cobalt blue and yellow, the collection features quite pleasant autumnal shades, which become even richer when combined with bold diagonal stripes, plaid, ethnic patterns and Matryoshka-inspired colorful floral patters in vivid colors, which decorated a lovely bohemian-style organza mini dress that we so much crave for. The same diversity exists in the fabrics, designs and lengths available, as we discover leather, wool, organza, chiffon, blanket-like materials and so on. The pants are cut at the tea-length mostly bringing back the trend of culottes, while the dresses and skirts are either super mini or tea-length with just two or three ensembles reaching the floor. To this end, we should mention those elegant floor-length gowns in black and cobalt blue closing the collection, as well as the gypsy-style maxi skirt with lush floral patterns.
Our ultimate crush of the entire collection? Boy oh boy, we just dream to have those flirty little dresses with full skirts embellished with the most imaginative prints and patterns and one of them being a plain black design with a gorgeous black belt accentuating the waist. The collection also offers a new design of the classic tuxedo, which features wool and silk and is composed of a form-fitting jacket and cropped drop-crotch pants. What else do you need for creating chic looks every single day and for every occasion during the upcoming transitional season?
