Tough, dark and strong is the fall fashion at Edun. Designer Sharon Wauchob unveiled the Edun fall/winter 2013-2014 collection on the 7th of February, 2013, during New York Fashion Week. The line is all about perfectly polished, hard youth-culture classics, still femininity and sophistication weren’t ignored. With black being the main color and leather and studs the key details, the newest Edun autumn 2013 collection teaches sporting sort of hard-rock pieces or the gothic trend in the most refined way.
After the Edun fall 2013 fashion show, the creative director of the brand tried to explain the style of her creations by saying: “I don’t want to use the word punk. I think you’re going to be hearing punk too much this season.” Instead, she opted for different style directions, including grunge, biker and mod. “It’s a cocktail—I didn’t feel the need to rigidly focus on one,” she said.
As a result, the Edun fall/winter 2013-2014 collection brings lots of leather and studs, blacks and reds, shiny fabrics, plaid patterns and eighties-inspired pointy-toe boots. There are nineties-inspired plaid leggings, black leather biker jackets, silk blouses, leather vests, acid-yellow tweed skirts, blazers and pants, leather collars and waist-emphasizing belts. Sharon managed to create a subtle punk feel by replacing the buttons of the pieces with cuffs, and decorating her designs with chains and pseudo-piercings.
The Edun fall/winter 2013-2014 collection is sure to appeal to the punk youth, and if you don’t belong to this category, don’t shy away from incorporating some Edun pieces to refresh your style!
