Time and again we have mentioned the magnificence of the Lebanese artistry when it comes to the world of fashion. There are many among the mix of designers, who have immense creative talent and the ability to truly wow us with their final products, often leading us into the world of fairies or the perfect red carpet events. Among the very best in the Lebanese designers is undoubtedly Elie Saab, with his ethereal looks and impeccable eye for fashion. However, this year he seems to have gone dark, with a rather witchy appeal to the Elie Saab fall/winter 2016-2017 ready-to-wear collection, the red gowns our favorites from the horde of 56 different ensembles.
The final crimson look is probably the very best out of them all, with long sleeves, flowing skirts, ruffled edges to the open shoulders and the plunging neckline, all of which was complemented with a black choker studded with gold, a red belt cinching in the waist of the dress that we are positive will be making itself available on the red carpet soon enough. There were even matching red platform heels to complement the tempting seductress it created, in a look a little more subtle than the near fully lace dress with the ruffled high neck, the sleeveless cut and body enhancing looks that really accentuated every last curve.
Throughout the Elie Saab fall 2016 collection, black was the most prominent color, followed by the appearances of crimson either as part of the black ensemble or on its own. We saw quite a bit of purple as well, with lace dresses all around, purple platform shoes and purple high-heeled boots seen all over as well. There were purple scarves and purple accessories as well, while a single white dress appeared among the mix.
If we were to tell a story, it would be that of a dark witch with a conscience, who rather enjoyed a good seduction but who held an air of innocence about her. She would be confident in her own body, while also managing to blend in with the society about her, taking on the trends that were deemed necessary at the time. She has an arrogant streak and a deep appreciation of her own dark arts, while her fashion sense is unparalleled, no matter if she opts for black, red or purple frocks. At the end of the day, this is a witch not to be reckoned with, inclusive of the stereotypical hat but without a single broom in sight.
Considering the fact that Halloween falls in the autumn months, it might be an interesting choice to wear out a lacy Elie Saab dress for the weekend’s parties, preferably in a classier setting. The award for the most fashionable costume will undoubtedly fall into your hands. After all, who can resist an Elie Saab item, particularly when it has a darker theme to the whole of the outlook? We cannot wait to get a chance to enjoy the fruits of Saab’s labors this fall!
