It is still a controversial issue if we should be grateful to Giorgio Armani that many years ago he unexpectedly changed his life trajectory making an abrupt transition from medicine to fashion. After all a personality so energetic and animated as Giorgio Armani could have saved many human lives but instead he would have deprived the world from elegance and exquisiteness, would have impeded our bodies to feel utmost comfort and relaxation and our egos – to experience that so desirable self-assurance and inner strength. While you are pondering on whether to bow down to the iconic Italian designer, Mr. Armani is hotfooting to our springtime wardrobes with his striking and ravishing Emporio Armani spring/summer 2016 collection.
The atmosphere on the runway was somewhat invigorating and exhilarant. There we saw a real powerful cause-and-effect chain. Giorgio Armani made his inexhaustible energy pass through the staggering pieces, which in their turn nestling on alluring models’ bodies electrified them so heavily that the dark-haired and dark-skinned models catwalking were literally radiating super-feminine energy with their tantalizing and mouthwatering eyes.
The fashion titan was the first to tailor and design a feminine blazer and he himself is the one to remind us of it every time, show after show and we are overjoyed to see a myriad of blazers with a myriad of designs and proportions and to rest assured that blazers will never sputter out if under Mr. Armani’s patronage. Once the designer confessed that with the help of blazers he wanted to safeguard women in the man’s world but now he is trying to bring back fragile and graceful women. On the runway show of the Emporio Armani spring/summer 2016 collection we witnessed a palpable attempt to present a woman, who is in business but does not take it too seriously; she is sitting at the meeting at times distracting her attention and thinking how she will dress up tonight to kill her beloved. This is a real woman and this is what the contemporary world needs the most.
The show opened with a lightweight charcoal grey trench with abstract patterns on it paired with cadet grey slouchy pants. It continued with a range of staples of different grey shades. A typical going-to-work satin grey bomber jacket, a satin trench with high neck paired with the same material languid pants were very soon followed by more romantic options by adding a tiny detail – little elegant scarves tied like romantic bows. A couple of floral printed pieces like a grey-blue jacket with pink-black flower patterns on it or densely flower decorated shorts with matching little scarf, as well as a sleeveless top all covered with flowers let alone a flowerlike detailing on it came to enhance the lovey-dovey atmosphere of the show.
We were definitely feeling that it was becoming hotter and hotter, more and more passionate. Cold colors were being gradually alternated by warmer or more vibrant ones. Dirty pink, gray black dresses, shorts and blazers were gently becoming coral pink, tawny, tangerine and persimmon ones and with the progression of shades the catwalk was getting brighter thus conveying a sunny and vivid springtime mood around. One of the tops looked like a super-natural assembly of pink and orange flowers and leaves thanks to the designer’s exclusive ability to perform sophisticated and intricate cutouts.
Bohemian was the finale of the Emporio Armani spring 2016 show when chiffon started supervising. Fluid chiffon multicolored pants, skirts and tunics had really nothing to do next to the boho chic high-low frocks with one-sleeve designs. The closing model with her intriguing ensemble and languid catwalking left everybody dumbfounded and amazed with Mr. Armani’s never-ending aesthetics.
