Erdem Spring/Summer 2014 RTW – London Fashion Week
Another uniform and unisex attitude inspired collection is on the runway of London Fashion Week. This time it is the Erdem spring/summer 2014 collection. “I’m really interested in the idea of a girl dressing like a boy, and a boy dressing like a girl,” Erdem Moralioglu said. Well, the ideas are turned into reality quite successfully this time as well.
Preserved within the monotone black and white themes, Erdem created a really good-looking line, with certain unique and descriptive characteristic elements. Firstly, that’s the interesting patterns of lace technique applied to the majority of the pieces. The eye-catching plays of lace and transparent gaps between the floral designs are indeed magnificent. Other synonyms for the Erdem spring/summer 2014 collection are the feathery motives applied as the most direct tools leading to chic and elegance. Thus, we can say that one part of the line is handed to the reign of lace, the other being left for the fluffy feather motives.
The floral themes can’t be left out either. Particularly, that’s the yellow details appearing from time to time among the main floral prints and appliqués. Coming to fabrics, we can surely mention the wide use of tulle and organza both with black and white garments. What refers to the shapes, the wide variety of outlines is worth mentioning. Starting from floor length garments, pleated skirts, and reaching to fluffy jackets, sleeveless cocktail length dresses, and the fabulous asymmetrical ones, they are always there to give you something more to discover.
Finally, we can’t speak about the shapes and not notice the beautiful wrapped dresses with various interesting interpretations. The additionally put tulle and organza give the lace an enticing and beautiful look, making the line truly perfect. The final piece of the Erdem spring/summer 2014 collection was the most striking and impressive look. A beautiful white shirtdress with a wide sector of organza put at knee level and finished with fluffy details creates an impression as if the model is walking on the clouds. It looks truly effective. Thus, another wonderful and unique line is waiting for fashionisers to be discovered.
