The name Erdem Moralioğlu is by no means new to fashion enthusiasts, especially those, who love everything floral, because the most distinctive feature of the fashion label known as Erdem are flowers in every possible form: printed, embroidered, on lacy dresses and skirts and so on. With these florals, every new seasonal collection designed by the British-Turkish master captures hearts of thousands of women all across the world. For his creations, Erdem uses only exclusive fabrics, the designs of which he develops himself. Erdem’s collections have always been womanly and the newest Erdem spring/summer 2015 collection was no exception: this time as well he glorifies femininity and the real, self-confident women.
The color palette of the Erdem spring/summer 2015 collection mainly included darker color shades, with the exceptions of few whites appearing here or there. We have seen rather colorful Erdem collections as well, but this one was not one of them. Here dark green appeared to be the central color for the entire line. Not only were the clothes designed in green hues, but also the whole catwalk had been transformed to look like a pathway in a dark and enchanted tropical rainforest.
The parade of “foresty” gowns started with transparent deep V-neck dresses of chiffon adorned with greenish blue and golden yellow florals, another transparent dress patched with what appeared to be green and beige embroideries of leaves, a light yellow knitted long sleeve thin sweater with a matching maxi skirt, a netty dress decorated with blue and green chiffon cutouts in shapes of flowers and leaves, a black, then white all lacy dresses, black and white textured dresses with collars and pockets and so on. The dark colors seemed to end here, and all white, yet again textured dresses took the catwalk. We saw off-the-shoulder long dresses with pockets (a unique combination of feminine and sporty, don’t you think?), long skirts of the same material paired with white tops with straps and small cutouts.
With dark green strapless dresses the colors went back to more vivid and vibrant ones. We saw blue, yellow and brown feathery tops and long skirts, V-neck long sleeve mosaic dresses in all shades of blue, high collar dresses adorned with blue, white and black feathers, a long sleeve dress entirely covered in ocean blue feathers and high collar long sleeve dresses decorated with blue and white florals. For the footwear, Erdem had gone for both high heel lace up and brogue shoes. The latter added a touch of masculinity to the overall rather feminine collection.
What a hauntingly (pun intended) beautiful collection, don’t you think? We believe the Erdem spring/summer 2015 collection is one of the best that Mr. Erdem Moralioğlu has ever designed!
