With a mission to bring fun into fashion through a mix of prints and colors at an affordable price, a vision of expansion into a global market, leading in affordable fashion designs, and values including passion, innovation, consistency, permanent questioning and integrity, Essential is a rather intriguing player in the fashion market. We love the way colors and prints on different fabrics are combined to create something entirely unique and we love the enthusiasm with which Essential tackles the world of fashion. It is perfectly inspiring and worthy of much praise; which is why we have fallen head over heels in love with the Essentiel spring/summer 2015 collection designs.
What started out as a simple t-shirt company back in 1999 has grown into one of Belgium’s top fashion brands, known as Essential, with its first store opening up in Antwerp. Esfan Eghtessadi, son of a fashion designer himself, fell in love with the world of textile from a young age and upon finding his own soulmate in Inge Onsea, Essential was born. T-shirts in four models available in twenty different colors were transformed into knitwear, jackets, dresses, shirts, and trousers, all after using their own home as a showroom for their collections. Trendy colors, new materials and a whole range of accessories were added to the brand’s line, creating their very own full-fledged ready-to-wear collection to present to the public. It was an absolute success, with Essential soon opening up stores in Knokke, Brussels, Leuven, Hasselt, and Bruges, after Antwerp of course. Now, they even have stores in Paris and Lille.
Who does dragonfly prints? We’ve seen lots of floral, we’ve seen animals and stripes, but dragonflies have eluded us to date. That is not to say it is not simply lovely either! Plus, the short sleeved, wide bodied loose-fitting shirt looks very comfortable and perfect over brightly colored abstract floral designed shorts with a mini hemline. Add sunshine yellow and white platform heels to it all and you have a rather interesting ensemble that appears to be telling a story about nature.
Black and white is a common combination and stripes are definitely in style at the moment. Add bright colored floral prints to the edges of the elbow-length sleeves and that’s one variation not yet seen among the Essentiel spring/summer 2015 lookbook, while the loose-fitting white cotton shorts look fabulous when paired with those chic, rich and oh-so-casual sneakers that mix white, black and bronze so nicely.
Glamour also manages to creep into the Essentiel spring 2015 collection, with ankle strapped laced sneakers in black and white the perfect accessory to finish off the blue glitter sweater and leopard print shorts combination. Large sunglasses and unkempt boho waves in the hair do the trick nicely in creating that perfect chic popular girl getup that all at high school and in the college sororities covet!
Of course, some of the designs are way out of this world as well, with a strapless jumpsuit tied at the waist with a string and paired with those ultra-chic black, white and bronze sneakers, all off which seems to create a psychedelic illusion. The black and white loose fitting single piece of garment is enough to make the mind do somersaults as it tries to make sense of the maze-like designs crossing all over the place. This might have actually looked better with straps, or even as a halter tap, since it appears cut off at the top of the chest. It is one of the most interesting pieces among the whole of the collection, though.
