Milan Fashion Week is bringing to our attention another unique collection for spring 2015, this time presented by the famous Italian luxury brand Etro. The Etro spring/summer 2015 collection is definitely the most ethnic, most printed and colorful, but also feminine collection for the coming bright season! The label was founded back in 1968 by Girolamo Etro and initially specialized in the production of fabrics. The well-known pattern “paisley” was coined by Girolamo and became a symbol of the brand, which has been unchanging to this day. Girolamo Etro was connoisseurs and a big enthusiast of ancient paintings and fabrics. He was also a huge fan of India. All these factors could not but affect the colors and prints in all collections of the Italian label.
It looks like the ethno style will be among the hottest trends next spring, if not the hottest one as several fashion houses have already showed collections inspired by Indians, gypsies and hippies. Etro also belongs to these fashion houses. The Etro spring/summer 2015 collection was so diverse, so chaotically (in the best sense of the word) beautiful, that it is just impossible to describe every piece one by one.
For their new collection the designers of the brand, just like always, had used only natural materials – silk, wool, cotton, linen and cashmere. The color combos created by the designers of the Italian label this time as well were very diverse. The entire collection was designed in pastel color shades. Ethnic prints and patterns, as you already know, were also present, which made the brand easily recognizable.
Staying true to the brand’s values and beliefs and also to its philosophy of “hippie deluxe”, Veronica Etro, the daughter of the founder of the brand, created a collection that had some tribal feel about it with neck choker thready necklaces, handbags and even shoes adorned with suede fringes, wide leathery belts adorned with the most amazing of ethnic prints and so on. The designer sent down the catwalk modern day Pocahontas clad in flowy dresses, ethnic print pants and colorful ponchos with Aztec drawings complementing the looks with suede vests and knee high boots with fringes and leather belts.
We think the Etro spring/summer 2015 collection deserves special attention. Usually, when we are looking at the images or watching a footage from a fashion show, it is very rare that we like all of the pieces presented. Most of the time we just choose several pieces that we loved and would love to see hanging in our wardrobes, and that’s pretty much it. The thing about this collection is that we loved it all, we loved it to bits, and we want every single piece in our wardrobe. So if you are into ethnic prints and love pastel colors as much as we do, this collection is going to be haunting you forever!
