From the sizzling street style looks to the show-stopping catwalk presentations, everything was perfect to bits and even though the magic took less than a week it did leave a bright impression on us. The Reddest of Reds

If you have not noticed yet, we have seen many of the collections feature gorgeous read numbers, in dresses most of all, which captivated us and the audience as a whole. Even the attendees wore their reds well, with Gwyneth Paltrow appearing in a gorgeous plunging neckline dress in a flowing number, looking as marvellous as ever. The crimson gowns have become a signature for Valentino itself and appeared in abundance on the actual runway as well, making Paltrow look even more fashion forward than she already is.

The Black is Back

While we most definitely saw a whole lot of colors, one of the main hues of the couture season was in fact a rather simple black. From the floor sweeping looks to the pantsuits, the sexier pieces to the more sophisticated designs, we were faced with enough black to last us quite a while. Plus, this means that we will be seeing quite a few of the couture pieces on the upcoming red carpet celebrations! Some of those Valentino looks certainly caught our interest. Chanel brought the black in along with the white, as we had expected, while Jean Paul Gaultier very much enjoyed playing with the contrasting colors, especially enjoying the disk-like skirts that were quite the novelty on the runway. Maison Margiela took to the black coloring as well, giving us color-blocked pieces that we wonder what to do with, while Giorgio Armani Prive ensured we had ostrich feathers along with everything else.

Shimmers of Gold

Honestly, this was one of the hues that caught our attention best. After all, how many designers can pull off gold as beautifully as Valentino did? The gold extended also into accessories, in Valentino’s case being gorgeous headbands woven into beautifully styled hair. Gold appeared at Elie Saab, in the form of eye makeup as well as lovely headbands even more intricate than the Versace or Valentino. Golden gowns grace the bodies while golden earrings and jewellery accessories adorn the arms here and there.

The Plunging Necklines

If you thought you had enough of the open chested looks, you thought wrong. The Couture Fashion Week brought in quite a few looks that had plunging necklines in all sorts of visionary artistry, showing off incredible beauty while elongating the body. Among the designers who rocked this trend were: Valentino with those floor sweeping sumptuous dresses, the impeccably perfect numbers by Elie Saab, and the goddess gowns in glittering magnificence by a second Lebanese, Zuhair Murad. Giorgio Armani Prive showed off a good amount of skin within the strobe-effect styling of the pieces, suits and feathery dresses and all.

Baring of the Breasts

The strangest trend of 2015 has been the bare breasted look that no one really wears out into public but that which we can certainly see making waves on the fashion runways. Every designer has a transparent or translucent piece, many of them with multiple pieces, in shirts and gowns and everything in between. We saw it as a trend on the Couture Fashion Week as well, looking pretty awesome at Valentino with the outlines of the nipples and sides of the breasts drawn out onto the sheer fabric, while Maison IRFE enjoyed showing off as much skin as possible. Even Jean Paul Gaultier enjoyed paring bare breasts with folkloric designs. Fishnets turned into interesting dresses at Maison Margiela as well, baring more than just the breasts.

Strappy and Laced Up Footwear

Whether we are looking at boots or sandals, heels or flats, the laced up gladiator look was totally in and we loved every last second of it. There is just something incredible about having the past meet modern designs, bringing what worked for the Romans into a world where it works for all. Golden versions appeared at Valentino, while Maison IRFE introduced some of its own lace up ankle boots in nude.

Furs and Feathers

One particular trend was the use of animals to create the couture designs we enjoyed over the last week so much. Whether we are talking about the furs of Fendi and Maison IRFE, or the feathers of ostriches seen at Giorgio Armani Prive, it was a rather animal studded affair going on for a few days there. Sables and minks were used aplenty, though we are sure to see quite a bit of backlash against it. There were protests outside the fashion shows as it is. With Europe quite a bit on the unsteady side of late, we wonder if the people raising arms against the use of real fur will be organizing anything to be especially alarmed about.
